Brian Jackson

I was born the middle of the last century in Los Angeles, California. After moving for a time to the Silicon Valley, I graduated from Humboldt State University amid the redwoods of Northern California.
Two weeks after graduation I was working as a computer systems programmer for Lockheed Missiles and Space (LMSC) back in the Silicon Valley. Two months after that and I was married as I have been happy ever since (for 40 years).
After 14 years at Lockheed I moved from working on IBM mainframes to using PCs running the Unix operating system and encountered a thing called the Internet. Cisco Systems seemed to be the right place to work, so I joined the company as their 650th employee. Eleven years later Cisco had grown to over 20,000 employees.
I retired at the age of 48 and instantly became bored!
Throughout my professional career I'd always enjoyed both writing and providing technical training. So, I attended creative writing classes at my local junior college and began to write.
I managed to write and self-publish a handful of books, but things didn't take off until my wife, Melanie Jackson, an established author with a New York company, left traditional publishing to join me in self-publishing.
In 10 years, from 2010 to now, Melanie and I have made half-a-million dollars self-publishing well over 100 books. I also managed to record a pair of audiobooks for Amazon and Audible sale.

Knew most of the tricks already, but it's nice to be reminded of them and to learn some more. The instructor has a very friendly voice that's easy to understand, but I had to speed up the video playback by 1.5x to make him speak faster (Worked like a charm).

As ever, another excellent and comprehensive course from Brian! I got his PowerPoint course and it helped me enormously. I feel confident that nothing he does will dissappoint, and this course was no exception. As a side-note, I find his infectious good humour, sense of enjoyment in what he's doing, as well as his pleasant voice and engaging delivery a pleasure to listen to.

It's a good course on some neat tricks to Udemy. My biggest concern is that some videos are there just to pump the time of the course because they are old. Overall I think that the information is well organized and what is communicated is useful, I just would like a tidier presentation deleting the sections that aren't useful any more.

this course is good for people that tend to get confused to udemy's layout/interface. the coupons section is good but there are many other ways to get discount/free coupons. I think including older UUSG edition is erelevant since udemy's layout change a lot and it might just add confusion instead clarity for the students. Over all this course is good, specially for people new to udemy.
