Here's a bit about me and Filmmaking and Video Production Hacks:
This course houses a collection of short films by international award winning writer/director Alex Ferrari, founder of Indie Film Hustle. He exploded onto the indie film scene with his break-through film BROKEN.
Shot on a budget of just $8000 and boasting over 100 visual FX shots, BROKEN became an instant indie film classic. He went on to sell over to $90,000 in DVDs by self distributing BROKEN.
He followed up BROKEN with the sweet and spicy film CYN, followed by the adrenalin filled Red Princess Blues (Starring Academy Award® Nominee Robert Forster (Jackie Brown), Richard Tyson (Black Hawk Down), Rachel Grant (James Bond 007).
These films have screened in over 600 international film festivals and have won countless awards around the world. I also share you you my 6 Secrets to get into Film Festival Cheap or FREE!

I'm not sure I would rate it as I expected, but I completed the course anyway. There is little actual instruction here. Most of the content is discussion between the film producer and individuals related to the productions he has made. It6s worthwhile, but as I indicated its not what I had expected.

This course has LOTS of content. The instructor, Alex, is very knowledgeable, and the course offers a ton of behind the scenes and commentary. I do wish there was a bit more "instructional" aspect in some parts, but overall a good course. I did find the marketing aspect especially good.

Well hello, I just want to say that this is s a great teaching for me and I guess for other who wish to make short and large movies, these guys are amazing in showing us everything, I am so great-full for the director and all the people teaching us the skills and many other thing that are so important for us to know, thank you and keep up the good job!

While the films look great and the stories about making them are interesting, after you have seen a film three or four times with different commentary it starts getting tedious. Also, the sound levels keep changing. For 15 minutes or so the commentator can barely be heard and you crank up your volume and then, suddenly, he or she is speaking louder. Filmmakers of this calibre should not produce a video with audio deficits. Another problem is lack of visuals showing the process of making the film. When they talk about the great job their sound guy did it would have been nice to see something like the mixer he used on set, the boom mic and how it was placed or law mics if those were used. I would also have liked to learn more about how they lit the scenes.

Great!!!!

Not what I thought it was going to be. It's more of a collection of BTS featurettes and interviews that are better placed in a "special edition" of a Blu Ray or Rented copy of the video versus calling this a "course". I honestly think they should have just put this up for RENT like the movie, Lost in La Mancha. Calling it a course is pretty misleading IMO. This is like the 3rd "course" I've bought from this creator and I don't foresee buying anymore. It just feels like he's had all these years of experience making movies and now that "e-course" LMS platforms are available compiling his work in a different way to sell. NOW, there is nothing wrong with that IF that's what he/they are doing, but just pick the RIGHT format and by-product. If you like indie film commentaries and BTS footage/featurettes, then this is for you, but not if you're actually looking for the structure of an e-course. Overall though, good for the discounted price.

A ton of great information included derived from actual experience and a get-in-there-and-get-it-done perspective. Lots of value here.
By Senthuran on 6/14/2016
good course, i really enjoyed it. I would have love to have a lecture of the creative process involved in writing a screenplay
By David Shotwell on 2/10/2016
These are DVD extras, not a film class. There are titles like "How to Build Robert Rodriguez's Guacamole Gun," but the lesson is just a few minutes of test footage that doesn't tell you how to actually build the gun in any way. Ditto for everything else. Rather than tell you "how" to budget, setup auditions, accomplish effects, etc., they simply give generalized recaps of what they did, but without going into specifics. If you are interested in a class on Indie Film or "Hacks," this isn't it. If you want to watch three short films and lots of BTS stuff that you might find fun and interesting... look no further.
