Course Description
Do you want to be one of the core developers at your company—the person that everyone wants on their team, and who can deliver new features that work on time? Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD) are key disciplines that can help you achieve that goal.
In this video tutorial, you’ll learn about the PyTest testing library and how it’s used to write unit tests in Python. You’ll also set up some common Python development environments to use PyTest. You’ll create isolated test environments with Test Doubles and learn how to implement and use them with unittest.mock. Moving on, you’ll get to know some of the best practices in Unit Testing and TDD and get some hands-on experience with programming by implementing unit tests using TDD in Python.
By the end of this course, you’ll be able to apply the practices of Unit Testing and TDD on a daily basis to radically increase the quality of your code and help you and your company achieve your goals faster than ever before.

Lots of information and great examples! Would have been nice to see how to run with certain configurations not through IDE setup, but can check that out in the different tools' documentation. Overall, great course! Would be curious to see the more advanced examples. Would buy another course from this provider.

Instructor is well spoken and gets to the point in a relatively quick manner. The material is broken down just enough to be understood in small amounts of time without overwhelming the student with too many segments to go through. The presentations are crisp and clean, and flows with what the instructor is teaching very well.

While it provides a good introduction to TDD concepts using pytest, it lacks depth. These are improvements I think the course need: 1. A deeper drive into pytest illustrating TDD. 2. Add code resources for the code demonstrated in the videos. I wasted a bit of time have to go back to the code examples in the video to follow along. 3. And provide resources for additional including Link the relevant PyTest doc to each block and online articles and such. 4. Adding tests at the end of each block.

Not great. A survey of pytest's possibilities, not a particularly hands-on course. Narrator mumbles his way through, and simply forgets to pronounce last 1-2 words of many sentences, offering a sentence-ending grunt in their place.

An excellent course! I like the normal tone the lecturer is using, no hyper-enthusiasm, no artificial happiness. There were a couple of parts that actually didn't work for me, I guess due to the Python version and development since the course has been released, but other than that, I really learned much and really enjoyed the road! A full 5 because the normal tone compensates for the things I had to look for myself that didn't work initially as shown in the course.

In the first stages there is only one example of using TDD in designing new code - which to me is a completely way of thinking I need to learn.. Although there is one at end of the course, I expected to get more time on this at the beginning . Simple work flow illustration with TDD steps (first fail, then pass, refactor, etc.) could have been good too. Next in course is the pytest properties and way of usage - I used PyCharm and the menus and configuration was different than on this tutorial. Had to look for answers and configuration examples on YouTube and other sites, also the instructor moved too fast when setting his environment also assuming all viewers use Linux.. There are good tool tips and instructions on how to do good TDD at the final stages of the course.

The course was well presented, and a lot of information was covered. The down side was that too much information was covered in too little time. It is a good overview into TDD, but the course should have gone into greater depth for such an important subject, in my opinion.

Most of the examples were excellent, but the regular lectures could have been better. The instructor simply reads off the slides in a somewhat robotic voice. Also, in the first example outlining the use of mock objects, the instructor skipped over what the different objects were for and how they worked together. I had to ask my boss at work to explain everything to me. Overall, pretty satisfied with the course.

Great course if you want to understand TDD and improve your skills while writing code. I learned a lot of things I didn't know, it is just a great course, really. I recommend it to beginners and to medium-level python developers. Thank you.

I enjoyed it very much, and coded along in Pycharm to build my experience. There are some worthwhile scenarios, e.g. testing REST calls and file access, but I'd like to see more examples, perhaps a realistic sized app.
