Course Description
Working remotely from home in virtual teams could be the future of work as we know it.
Why? The reasons are simple.
86% of employees prefer to work from home
30% of employees report higher productivity while remote
Companies that allow remote work experience have a whopping 50% lower annual turnover
87% of employees say they are more engaged, not less, when working from home
68% of job seekers say that the option to work remote would greatly increase their interest in a position
65% of employees say they would strongly consider leaving their position for a remote position with similar pay
Remote work is a global phenomenon and it's growing. The number of employees working remotely has grown by 4% each year for the last 5 years. Sooner or later, all companies will have to offer some kind of option to work remote otherwise they'll risk losing talent and falling behind.
It's no wonder so many well know companies are running their entire teams without an office. Companies like Buffer, Automattic, Zapier, & Toptal just to name a few.
But how exactly can you make sure you get the same return and the same quality work from every remote employee?
Well, that's exactly what we're going to cover in this course.
We'll cover how to:
Assemble a great team of qualified, talented remote workers
Select the best online tools to successfully complete projects
Form great communication and leadership habits to inspire your team
Create a virtual culture for your team over time, and
Establish helpful policies and procedures to evaluate their performance
Understanding & implementing the best practices of remote hiring and remote management could be the difference between success and failure.

It's good to have clear details on this topic. Remote work is becoming normalized and widespread, it is necessary to consider it and develop new ways of proceeding in this new challenge.

The course quickly gives an overview about which points to take into consideration before hiring remote workers. It is really great! You can take everything from it you actually need to move away from traditional working models.

Not sure if the presenter is reading but after a few lectures it becomes difficult to stay focused as it sounds mechanic. The content could be somehow personalised and content deliveded a little slower with most important information highlighted.

Content is good. Delivery: The relentless repetition of "guys" comes across an annoying verbal tic and is probably offensive to learners who are not "guys". Visuals: It seems odd to illustrate a course about virtual teams with bunches of stock photos of non-virtual teams.

This course did a good job of highlighting some of the more important items to look for while looking at candidates for a virtual team while also explaining some of the best ways to get more qualified applicants applying by optimizing your listing in different formats and websites.

I have a remote worker and I am looking to add to the team but want to learn more to make sure I am doing the right thing in order to support the remote team.

It’s a great course outlining how to manage virtual team. It’s also nice to learn about how this works if you are one of the team member working remotely like I am.

All of the content seemed like common sense to me as someone who has worked on virtual teams for most of their life. I guess some people need to hear it though. Lecturer sounds like he's clearing his throat whenever he hits a hard 'c', 'k', or 'q' ("uvular fricative") which was really distracting for me personally but may not bother most people.

I found myself thrust into managing a virtual team several months ago and I must say it was a messy start. I realized quickly that I needed to adjust my management style to accommodate my new overseas team. Using Evan's principles has helped us build trust between the state-side and overseas teams. We are much more productive because we know we are here to help one another get to the finish line. (And we have some fun too!) I've taken another course by Evan Kimbrell (Product Management) and I like the casual, concise way he presents material. The short, succinct pieces make the material easy to absorb and he provides a few suggestions for tools to use for each task. (Extremely helpful if you don't know even where to start!) This course was money well spent! (Thank you, Evan!)
