Course Description

Have you ever tried to install Ruby on Rails on a Windows computer? Tough, isn't it!!
Most Ruby on Rails courses assume you already have Rails installed. Chances are, that's not the case! And Rails is one of the harder web frameworks to install; it's easy to get messed up!
In this course I'll walk you through it step by step.
We'll install all the software you need such as Node.js, Git, Git Bash, and the Heroku Toolbelt.
I'll also show you how to set up version control, and how to push your version control up to Github.
Finally, I'll walk you through deploying your app on Heroku, a professional web hosting service (we'll use the free version).
If you've ever tried to install Rails and failed, this is the course for you!

See you on the inside!

Very interesting course on getting Ruby on Rails to run on a windows system

Good teacher, excellent knowledge of the material, excellent diction!

I highly recommend any courses John Elder teaches. He is a master at problem solving and has the patience of a saint. Every time I have a problem or an issue, he is super quick to respond. I learned a ton through this course just on problem solving alone. Installing Ruby on Rails On Windows was a complete challenge for me and now I can install it with ease.
Thank You John Elder for another great course!

Before today I hadn't coded a Rails app for 18 months.
I'm running Windows 10 - and Installing Rails was easy with this course. But it's more than that.
You learn by building a very simple 2 page site which you will push to Heroku. On the way to deploying your app you create a Rails project, integrate Bootstrap, github and link it to Heroku using SSH key. You also set some basic routes, tweak the gemfile and use some erb for navigation.
You can do this in one day, use this as a foundation to John's other Rails courses.

great and expalains it very well

Great, short course! Learning how to create the bash makes it work for me.

Mr. John is a nice teacher, because he very quickly gave me answers about any small question. Thanks to this course, I can go ahead to study Ruby on Rails Tutorial with my Windows computer.
Thank you so much !

Right now I'm taking a much more extensive Ruby on Rails course using Linux, but this is a good course on getting a start in RoR on Windows. Most RoR developers are going to use Linux or Mac so they can switch among different versions of Ruby and Rails using either RVM or rbenv, especially if they have to maintain or add to older Rails apps. That's not really the fault of the instructor, who explains things very well and is very engaging, so I'm going to give this course the full 5 stars. Basically it does everything it says it's going to do, help you set up your development environment on Windows and push up a basic site to Github and Heroku.

So far it's been great. I tried to install Ruby a couple times and got nowhere and decided to go with this course and do it right instead of wasting my time. The course is easy to understand and thorough and John provides excellent and quickly accessible support through his FB group.
