Instructor Details

Kevin Brown

I have been in the technology field for more than 20 years.  I have been a high performing Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) since 2000 and a Cisco Certified Systems Instructor since 2006.  I began my career in telecommunications more than 20 years ago.  Since then I have worked as a Systems Admin, Network Admin, System integrator, Solutions Architect, and CTO. My courses are not presentations that rely on slides to explain concepts.  My goal is to demonstrate every concept covered, instead of using slides that cover theory, we will use the interface to configure every setting that is discussed.  In my view, if you do not know how to complete a task that a course covered, that course was not beneficial.  I will make sure that you know how to complete each task and the various configurations for those tasks.

Great course, looking to explore Hyper-V as an alternative to VMWare and this has help massively understand the components that are crucial to a successful Hyper-V build.

By Christophe Gulyas on 5/6/2026

Brilliant job, indeed. The course covered very more topics than I was expecting. This made me want to follow other courses within Kevin's portfolio. I hope more is to come in the next future.

By Jeff Rife on 5/4/2026

Although the delivery was a bit casual, it was very easy to understand and covered the topics well. It was a little too much repetition for me, but it was never so much that I didn't want to continue.

The best part, is that I can understand you clearly. The pace is ok (sped up a little), it seems to be missing some details for some of the settings. And when I create a new VM the default is use the Maximum amount of vCpu's, can this and the default locations for VM and configuration files save changed -- everytime I create a new VM the default location is where every Microsoft set it to. Also, can once a VM location is set for a VM's locaton, Configuration and VM files, can this location be changed, even if done manually, If they can are there configuration files that need edited ? Many things I can change n VMware I'm hoping to be able to change in Hyper-v.

I like the teaching style and really like that all the slides are provided in a single document right at the beginning. I'll edit this later as the course progresses.

Very informative and well-structured! The course breaks down Hyper-V concepts in a simple way, making it easy to follow. Great for building a strong foundation in virtualization.

I was a beginner in Hyper-V and with this course I'm able to make Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Failover clustering and Backups. I'm a fan of Mr Brown, always teaching with practice sense, trying to make you understand easily all the topics about the course. Keep it up Mr Brown, Well Done

By Anders Ekwall on 2/6/2025

I have used Hyper-V for many years since 2008, supported and professionally used as well. I have been away from IT more or less around 2 years from June 2022 , so this is a refresher and to keep updated

The presenter was excellent, modules included covered a decent selecton of relevant topics, I do not believe this will be the only course I need to master all things Hyper-V.
