It took me 5 months to finish the course in my spare time. It's a beginner-friendly course but with some minor flaws. Pro: The instructor explains basic concepts and tools well. Compared to many other "monkey see monkey do " courses, this one is well-designed. It introduces new knowledge gradually and gives you the chance to practice in a mini project. After taking the course, you would have a solid foundation to further your learning. Also, There are not so many tutorials on the internet that cover props rigging but this course does a great job on that topic. Con: The last section about human character rigging feels rushed and the instructor makes some mistakes (though he later fixed them) which makes the course a little bit hard to follow. And I think the instructor should spend more time explaining the details of IK spline and skinning which he covers but explains too fast to dive in deeper. Another downside of this course is that the Q&A section is virtually abandoned. So you may have to rely on AI to help solve problems.

This was a great course for me, as someone with over 10 years of experience, to brush up on rigging fundamentals and create a new biped rig. I found the error correction very useful, as it demystified several things about winding back and re-doing certain mistakes without losing work. This course covers quite a lot, and though the final rig is perhaps too complex for hobbyists, the range of material covered provides a good working knowledge of rigging in maya. I perhaps would have liked greater depth in the skinning sections, but other than that, I found this course highly valuable.

This guy is a good teacher even though I don't have a good level of English i can understand I have been very happy with your explanations but I got a bit lost when rigging the golem and I got lost with the character especially in the script part, in the IK and FK part, I know what it is since I come from using blender but maya is in some things incredibles and in others a trash. Thanks for everything, obviously I will come back to see you later but it has been incredible, you have made me stop hating maya :) in several aspects.

I thought it was going to be difficult but it wasn´t at least for me, i mean yes it´s a lot of information but once you have all the steps written everything becomes 100% sure that it'll work, i just had one problem, literally the only problem was the way of mirroring curves, for me they shared the same axis even if i grouped, duplicate and scaled on the x axis with a -1, if i moved both of them at the same time to the left the 2 curves would go to the left, whereas in the video they went to opposite directions, i don´t know what happen or why it didn´t worked but still i got a beautiful rig with a model that i made on Zbrush and retopology on Blender, i made a Big Boss from Metal Gear Solid and it worked. Thank You Abraham Leal for being a Very Good teacher!

Awesome course, thank you a lot! I learned a lot. I agree with some other reviewers that you sometimes go pretty fast. However, I personally really like that. It keeps up the pace and it's easier to maintain the "onward and forward" attitude this way. If you went much slower like some other instructors in other tutorials do, the lengthiness of the tutorial often takes its toll on my concentration and it's harder to understand the whole process. If you never touched Maya before, then maybe, yeah, you go a bit too fast, but I feel like your courses are best for people that have worked a little bit with Maya before and want to go from beginner to intermediate / advanced. With that said I learned tons in your course and feel really confident going about rigging in the future. As for potential future courses, I'd love an advanced rigging course with advanced techniques and further explanations regarding more complex techniques. Personally, my favorite topic for a future course would be anatomy sculpting for humans and creatures to learn and be able to study anatomy with you from the ground up. I think it would also tie in nicely with your other courses so that students reinforce their anatomy knowledge and can achieve even better results following, e.g. your advanced character tutorials / demon tutorial etc. Kind regards, looking forward to your other courses!

Initially Rigging was a nightmare for me, the skinning, the joint setup etc. I thought of it as very difficult topics which i can never understand but after this course i gained the confidence to start my rigging journey. I practiced all the lessons, watched them 2-3 times to understand them better. It will be a little difficult at first but as you try to understand the concepts and practice more and more and get better understanding of the topics its quite simple. Thank you Abraham and NextTut Education for this amazing course.

This course was really interesting, rich and well done. The only part that was not so amazing for me, was the last part in which we rigged a soldier. Not only was it a pretty steep jump from any other material that was taught in the course and was confusing in its own right, (for example, the use of node editor which was used for the first time at this part), the fact that the teacher confused a lot, made it even harder. While I did study a lot in this course, I think some parts in section 4 should have been re-recorded.

This is the best rigging tutorial PERIOD! I enjoy his light heartedness when teaching and the fact he does everything from A to Z even if to some it may seem repetitive but for me that’s how my brain works to understand and learn things especially when learning something as technical as Rigging. I absolutely love this tutorial and what an amazing deal! One of the absolute best tutorials I ever bought EVER (and I have bought A LOT of tutorials). Love you Abraham! Keep up the incredible work!
