ISTQB® Test Analyst Advanced Level (CTAL-TA) 2026 (Udemy.com)

I have experience with software testing for several years, but I have not taken a formal course in it (I was a former developer that transitioned into QC/QA). This course has been helpful so far in affirming that some of the approaches I have been using already are good practice. I am hoping to learn about areas I can improve in as well.

I took this course and prepared for about 2 weeks and I passed the exam yesterday. Admittedly, not with the max score. I found the exam questions a bit more difficult than the ones in the training or mock exams. Also, there are no multiple choice questions, but the answers are very nuanced. I enjoyed Maged's course and although I was surprised to see two parts of mostly identical content, in the end I found it very useful as a recap. Some improvement points: - more emphasis and more examples for the Test Techniques; - add more recent mock exams; those available in the course are quite old (they are still valuable as a learning resource, but newer ones should be added). All in all, this course is good value for money (compared to the live instructor ones that cost thousands of $)

Clear and well-structured. I got easily the CTAL-TA certification (90%) in September 2023, just following this course twice and doing some further exercises regards to the test design techniques part. Next goal for this year : the Test Manager certification. I have already bought the corresponding Udemy course made by Maged Koshty to prepare it.

The course is something that will help me with my current job but this particular training course was a bit difficult. The presentation wasn't dynamic enough to keep my attention at times. The background which was chosen by the trainer for video of him was a bit distracting with the blinking lights. I'd like to see just the slides, no presenter, and more dynamics in the presenter as far as voice projection.

Maged is delivering a fantastic over view of the syllabi - 2012 with alot of depth knowledge and easily learning. His take on the studies is great and I applaud him on his knowledge on the subject a lot of time and effort has been placed into this, and I hope by completing this study guide will help me pass the exam.

El curso abarca la mayoría de los temas que abarcan el Syllabus, los ejercicios prácticos son muy útiles a la hora de entender las técnicas de pruebas. Lo recomiendo totalmente. En cuanto al idioma, a pesar de yo tener lenguaje nativo el español, entiendo bien el inglés del profesor. Excelent teacher by the way. I recommend totally.

Hey Maged, passed (ASTQB) CTAL-AT 2012 at 86.7% at first attempt yesterday. Thank you :)!. I am still miffed about what’s missing in this course, because: 1. I was spoilt for “everything in a single place” in your foundational course, and 2. missing topics like state transition and experience-based techniques in the paper were at k3/k4 and nothing less than 3 points. I believe they still part of the 2019 syllabi. So I am going to keep one star in the rating ;) lol. Hopefully I will muster up the courage to attempt the TM exam pretty soon.

Hello Maged, I am happy to inform you I clear my ITB TA exam. As per other your courses in this course you explained things very well and simple way. I really like 4 to 7th chapter from your course. Please increase questions on 3rd chapter as well as 4th chapter scenario. In my exam 4-5 question on state transition diagram. Many question on Usability scenario. two of friend gave exam with different board they also face same situation. As state transition is completely missing in your course.

I referred your ISTQB foundation course in 2017 and I passed foundation exam because of those lectures. In the exam, I followed the guidelines and techniques you mentioned in the lectures. I should also mentioned this to everyone. Some of the testing techniques were missing in this course. When I asked it from Maged, he was ready to switch the course or refund it, but since foundation level I always kept trust on his teaching style. Therefore I didn’t switch or refunded. But I really appreciate your genuine attitude. Still I passed with exiting lectures, by only referring this course. Thank you so much again. Looking forward to follow your ISTQB courses.

I really enjoy his course because the way he explains the topics are easier to understand and once you have understanding of topic then you can apply it at your workplace also.
