Course Description

Create a dynamic input form that can add data and retrieve data from a MySQL database! Learn to create this project from Scratch

Instructor of this course is a web developer with over 15 years of experience working on hundreds of projects. Sharing real world coding experience.

This course is ideal for anyone who wants to see multiple programming languages working together. The end product will be a HTML form the can submit data via AJAX to a mySQL database. Using JSON formatted data we display all of the MySQL table contents within our webpage.

JavaScript > AJAX > PHP > MySQL vs MySQL > PHP > JSON > JavaScript

Learn how to use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Jquery, JSON, AJAX, PHP, MySQL together in one project.

Topics covered include

  • JavaScript Objects
  • JSON formatted data
  • JavaScript AJAX to retrieve data
  • PHP database connection
  • PHP arrays
  • MySQL database with PHPmyAdmin
  • MySQL query strings
  • CSS form and HTML
  • AJAX to PHP JSON formatted data
  • JQUERY AJAX

I know that not everyone prefers JavaScript for AJAX, so I also show you how to re-code the JavaScript AJAX to be JQUERY AJAX. Also some tweaks and code updates are included. In addition I transform the old PHP data code to newer formats so that students can see the different ways of writing PHP.

All the source files and top resource links are included, so that you too can work along with the code practice and learn better.

This course is full of amazing content you won't see anywhere else.

The instructor could have explained things better and gone a little slower. With the small windows for the code it was difficult to try and code along. There were also a couple of errors or changes due to updates that made his code not work/not work the same way. I have over 15 years programming experience in other languages but have been out of it for many years and am just getting back into it. That being said I was still able to learn a lot from the course and feel for the price I paid, $9.99, it was well worth it.

Some parts may be a little confusing and need reviewing again. BUT - overall he gives you a very quick run through on Java script, Ajax and jQuery in a very short time. Good for those on a time crunch. I hope to see more from this instructor. Very knowledgeable and well spoken, I recommend this class I learned a lot from it .

I took that course to refresh my knowledge about the subject and I have learned a few tricks along the way. However, I would have liked to see the "json.php" updated with the mysql object. Thank you for that course.

I wish more time is dedicated to explain the basic concepts involved with the applied technologies. Having said that, course forced me to dig further and it was a great guide to find myself the concepts somewhere there while the instructor concentrated on the application in focus. Even learning how to do it in JavaScript and JQuery with same results. Awesome course, but you have to stick with it and lessons will bring light. Thanks!

The course is useful up to a certain point. You know how to insert and read records using AJAX, JSON, PHP and MySQL, however, he does not go into detail on how to update and delete records using these methods. It would be a welcomed update if he were to add sections on updating and deleting data using these methods. Not only that, the syntax highlighting is quite difficult to read but the font size is big enough to follow. Aside from all of that, the instructor is clear and concise which is a plus.

It's not the top-top, almost state of art course where the instructor also engages you with precisely selected exercises so that you learn the material on your own as well and more in depth. So in this regard it's more like a "how to" course than an learning class. But it is a really good and clear "how to" course and Iam fine with that because this is exactly what I was looking for. The instructor explains code as he goes and after he finishes he takes some time and goes over it again to explain what it does which is a big thumbs up. The explanations are clear and simple to follow as well as the code is. He shows at least three different approaches to solving the same problem (ajax calls to data base) and that is what makes this course great as well. Explained security issues and possible solutions in PHP adds value as well. Thanks to the instructor for sharing his knowledge and making it clear so that others can learn from it quickly and save lots of our prescious time. Thank you!

What I see so far is invaluable information to me in this stage of my studies into Web Development. I am very exited even though this is just the beginning. Can't wait to get to the meat an potatoes of this course.

Start of most courses is terrible, because, each instructor has his own favorite tools, editor, browser, etc. This course is no different, just setting the tools is very time-consuming, especially when each student has the tools that he prefers., As I get further into the course, it is easier to follow along and the course is beginning to get to the point. I can see where we're going and how we're going to get there. Finished course, a great learning experience. Cleared up issues I've been having and got me on the right path. Thanks...

The teacher is very good, and he knows very well what he is doing. I was just a little confused because the course is not so well organized, not referring to the structure of units but to the process of making code (commented code from the previous lessons, different ways to do the same thing within the same code, etc.)

Excellent course!! This is a unique course. I have not seen any other Udemy course which shows the complete round trip sending and receiving web data using JSON, AJAX and then storing the data in MySql database using PHP. This knowledge will be very useful. The instructor is superb and explains each and every concepts throughly. A++++++++
