Kotlin for Android O Development: From Beginner to Advanced (Udemy.com)

Students get different types of doubts, some silly, some serious. The student cannot go ahead unless his doubts are cleared. The programme just doesn't work. Unless there is reasonable support from the course directors, the students fail to learn. In this course i did not get any support. My questions were never answered. From Q&A i found many questions, almost all, remained unanswered. This is serious lapse. The programme material uploaded on gitHub is different in many places from the one programming taught at the time of teaching. The apps in the uploaded material just don't run on our Android Studio. Google was of great help which resolved 75% of our issues and we could make some of the apps run. At the end of the course some still remain. And finally, the version of Andorid, 'Oreo' is different from the version, 'Oreo(beta version), used in the course. With the result we had difficulty in following the lectures. Under these circumstances, we had to struggle to follow the lectures. Otherwise the course is well designed. And the instructor did a very good jog. My suggestion is that either you plese update the course material, attend to student's querries promptly, or take it off from the shelf.

The beginner part is too simple and wastes way too much time, I don't expect to spend so much time learning how declare a variable. Too much time explaining one small detail, so much time you get bored and eventually skip the lesson, you guys should really get to the point, I don't need to see the teacher googling a South park or Metallica image, you should've done that before and in the lecture just put the image where it belongs. Finally the pronunciation, it is really awful.

Very useful and enjoyable course that teaches all the core skills required to make virtually any app. Lessons were clear and structured however on rare occasions the methods/code has since been updated meaning the taught method no longer works, the correct method is usually then given in the questions section but it would be nice if the lessons were updated. Thanks!

This is great hand-on course, I started without any kontlin basic to able to write kotlin app. I will recommended it to all who want to learn Kotlin mobile-app. Thank you very much.

This course is good except Section 13 and Section 14. These two sections contain out of date data instructions and I had to struggle a lot. I even can not set up Parse in section 13 so I skipped it. I try to leave comment to ask how to solve problem. He did give me answer but his answer was too general. Most of time is tell me re-watch his video or re-check the code. But I am sure that problem is not mine. Its because out-of-date code and he does not update. Maybe he is too busy. In general, if you dont plan to learn section 13 and 14, it is a good course for you.

I was thinking before taking this course that i will not able to understand android app development due to complications but when i started learning using this course i am addicted to it. I am learning through the course daily to learn something new not only in theory but in practical knowledge that is giving me the strength which i need. Thanks to the Course Instructor for giving me pleasure to learn the android development so much easily.

In general, the course is good, interesting practical tasks, rated 4 stars due to the fact that: 1) The light IDE theme was used. At night it was "painful" for the eyes to watch lectures 2) There is a lack of adherence to the style of the code, it is constantly different, it is not good to demonstrate this to newbies 3) Often noticed "magic constants" and duplication of code, this is something that obviously does not need to be shown to beginners, because they later will do so 4) There were moments that caused doubt that the author understood what he was doing. For example, the constant creation of FeedActivity while saving a post in the Firebase (Instagram Clone section), instead of just closing the UploadActivity. Another example is the creation of the local variable "menuInflater", which is a full copy of the property in the Activity.

I am well versed in web-based technologies such as PHP, CSS, HTML5, and I am functional in Java and JavaScript. But I have been looking to expand into Android applications. So I have been taking courses and learning all I can. I have now taken a number of Kotlin/Android Studio courses. Most of them are missing many key sections and information that this one has most of. However, this one does not even touch on dealing with or using time and/or dates for time/date based applications, or timestamping databases/entries, or how to include and use advertising all key components of many if not most mobile apps. The instructor seemed knowledgeable and was easy to follow. And the course seemed thorough and well organized. I will however recommend this course to friends and colleges.

Thanks for the My Teachers in this course , I really have knowledge of this course, and i understand what has been taught in this course. Although i have to learn and try to understand better.

I have finished more than 50 lessons, the instructor is very detailed on everything he is doing, we are going trough an easy to follow structured program, I personally speed up the video to 1.5x, I think is a very good speed to follow. Whenever I have had a doubt, the instructor has answered me very quickly and solved my doubts, I´m very happy with this course and I really recommend it.
