The Jenkins Continuous Integration solution has become a standby in organizations of all sizes that want to increase productivity and streamline software development in the era of Agile. It has extensive community support has the extended the core functionality of Jenkins by developing thousands of useful plugins. An ecosystem of more than 1,100 plug-ins has emerged, enabling customers to add all sorts of functionality and integrate Jenkins with everything from Active Directory to GitHub to Tomcat.
Jenkins is becoming a must tool for DevOps. It allows companies to build very sophisticated build pipelines very quickly, thus greatly reducing the risk within the software development lifecycle. Tons of companies have already been using Jenkins to implement continuous integration pipeline. Today you have the access to that same technology right on your desktop.

It was a lack of default pipeline methods and parameters such as: agent, tools, archive artefacts, env variables etc.

By Treesa Susan James on 9/23/2020

It is well organised and easy to understand. Thank you!

By Khalifathullah Khan on 9/9/2020

It was good, but need to know how to use jenkins for database related application. I understand that we need to install corrosponding plugin and create a job and move ahead. Better to create one more training program for Database appliation for complete CI/CD pipeline.
Thanks
Khan

A lot of the materials are very confusing and outdated. Sometimes they will show you an example in windows system and sometimes they show you in linux. At least provide two sets of tutorials to show the example. Everything starting from section 5 is not good.

Only basics. I expected deeper dive into Jenkins.

By Daniel Piotrowski on 5/17/2020

I liked the chapters 1-4 which are well explained and organized, your can easily follow along and understand the concepts. Chapters 5-7 are not that good. Chapter 5 is very chaotic, instead of using the project from the previous chapters in an organized manner and build up on that gradually the instructor takes a shortcut and in the end makes it all confusing, it's not clear which parts should be changed and which should be kept as they were. In chapters 5 and 6 they don't even bother to provide you with the code files or links, you have to retype it from screen. I gave up in doing the exercises myself from chapter 6, as it was not properly explained how to configure Docker on Linux.
