Hands down the best beginner course on Digital Painting in Photoshop! No speed ups! No Time-lapse. A simple explanation that helped me finally add digital painting to my artistic skill set! Now I can paint everything I want!

What I love about the course's simple proposal is learning the most basic brush to paint and blend colors or shades of colors. Maurizio De Angelis teach us how to acquire this essential skill using Photoshop. But we can apply what we learn with any software. There are some caveats, his technique to identify shades of blues or colors in the reference image depends on Adobe Illustrator. He shows how to use pen and path tools in Photoshop to isolate overlapping pieces of cloth. The pen and path tools is one of the most sophisticated tool. However, He also teach you how to use the selection tool that is available in any digital painting software. Thank you Maurizio De Angelis for his superb teaching.

Beautiful how the blending was explained. Just the missing link for me in digital painting.

Great series - it explains the concepts very clearly and without wasting time, and I was able to follow along with the demonstration. With some practice, Im sure I can improve ;)

This was an excellent tutorial. It was brief, but to the point. The tutor encapsulates the main phases of painting digitally: Blocking in the main colours, blending the rough colour blocks into a continuous tonal surface, and then detailing/finalising the process. With this new found knowledge, one can apply the same process to all other areas. My only wish would be other tutorials which cover exactly the same process, but utilising the other main digital painting software apps like Procreate, Clip Studio Paint and Autodesk Sketchbook.

Good to go over the pen tool to make intersecting shapes, and luckily I have used it before. A very intricate tool. I had to turn on the accompanying written description, because I could not see exactly what combination of keys were selected. BUT unfortunately, although Maurizo you have a delightful accent I must say, the word recognicion program is simply hopeless. So the written instructions accompanying this complicated lesson were not of use........ so there is room for improvement please.

Wonderfully put together; it is great to just watch this man paint. Learned a lot more than I thought, and was so captivated I just watched straight through - and I'll probably do so again once or twice just to get a good grasp of the concepts. Sort of like watching a Digital Bob Ross ;P Also the subject matter is wonderful! Nothing better than the wonderful paintings of the Blessed Virgin to learn how to paint with :)

After struggling with blending in digital painting, the techniques used in this course help greatly in solving those issues. The process gets a little confusing at the point using he peen tool, this section needs to be watched with close attention. Course highly recommended.

This course is okay so far. I will point out that the scaling option for the path is in the edit menu then transform and then scale. The options for adding and subtracting the shapes is also somewhat confusing. I stuck with it and saw what you were doing and once I had it the way you did I moved on. I will update this when I have completed the course. I have now completed the course and well It's okay. I did find myself making things easier as the was an over complexity that frustrated the process. I have learnt from this course even if there are elements that are missing as I stated above. The painting itself came out okay and with more attempts and using a method less complicated it will improve. As with all drawings and paintings, you can't get better at something unless you do it again and again. I can recommend this course as it is instructional. You will frown now and again wondering why it's so difficult in some places. Jim.
