I love you man, you are doing well and so far providing a great content. So much commands explained, and the most thing I like about it is you provide cheat sheets after each section. that is really cool and helpful. I used them to memorize without the need to pause the video just to know how a specific command works ! thank you Ahmed.

Good demonstration of basic vi topics. Ideas are clearly presented in the accompanying documents, that include "cheat sheets". Presentation not quite so polished (eg download documentation sections' titles don't match course sections'; irritating, although irrelevant, syntax errors in the example documents in the videos.)

Well explained, simple and clear ... even I've been working with VIM for some time I am discovering some new shortcuts and a nice way to apply them.

Pretty good course. But to improve it, - it's sometimes difficult to see your cursor in vim, so difficult to locate where to watch to see your actions - would be good to have ressource list (url, book, other ?) to go further. - some vimrc and exrc file example would be nice - there are good commands that doesn't appear, and macro recording would have been a good chapter. but the overall is good and very understandable. thank you

This is a great course that took me through much more than I ever knew Vi/Vim could do. Sometimes the cursor in the terminal window examples was hard to follow (a brightly colored cursor would be great), but I followed the examples fairly well, and my own practice of those examples helped me understand the concepts. Overall, a very in-depth class that I recommend.

This is one of the goods course on Udemy. I am regulare user of Vi/VIM but learned a lot of concept after going through the course material. The pros are: 1. Topics are well organised. 2. Covered most of the topics. 3. Explained the topics and showed the demo right after it. 4. Cheatsheet are given in the end of each section. The cons are: 1. Most of the times it's very hard to follow the cursor as the color fo the cursor almost mached the background. (If that is fixed then I would make it 5 star.) 2. The resource documents are not properly named. Over all, I enjoyed watching the videos and of course, learned what I was looking for especially contents like handling registers, advanced navigation, setting up options, etc. Thanks!!!

I miss a couple of things: * More about VIM specifics * A bit better organization (for instance, the chapter about recover a file barely talks about recovery itself...) But it is nonetheless a good course

A very good course + a lot of material covered in a very clear way. The speaker could be a little bit faster (as watching at 150% is still OK), and also a few more topics could be covered in the "Visual Mode" section - especially the column edit mode. But, overall it's still a 5-out-of-5!

This is a must take course for sysadmins, devops and open source developers. Ahmed does a great job of presenting the material; making it easy to understand by providing many practical examples of commands you will likely use on a daily basis. I actually learned as much, if not more, in this 4 hour course than I did after reading an entire 400+ page book on the vi editor.
