Course Description

So, you have been searching for ways to draw pretty comic faces. You can stop.
You found it. This course teaches everything you need to know in order to draw pretty faces for comics books, or just pretty faces in general.

This course is created for the beginner, but even an advanced comic artist can get something from it. It is taught in an easy to grasp way. I teach the hows and whys to draw things, which is really important and lacking in most "how to draw"courses.

Each lesson tackles one concept, then gives an exercise to do so you not just get the concept, but get better at drawing pretty faces.

Neil Fontaine

I'm a best selling author on Amazon for "How to Draw Awesome Figures."
I studied art at different schools, one of them being a community college in San Jose, Ca. Over the years, subjects in art finally clicked. I teach these subjects in ways that make it easy to grasp. It's hard to brag about myself, but students have written me emails saying how they have learned more from me than they did in art schools, art schools such as Academy of Arts in San Franscico. That blew my mind because it's supposed to be a great school.
Ialso sell abstract paintings that I painted while meditating. A recent painting sold for $10,963. If enough art students ask, I will make a course on how to abstract paint. You can see my paintings at saatchiArt
I'm also a writer that has sold novels.

Drawing women is something that I wanted to practice working on, especially faces. This course provided some useful tips, that I feel I can use. For example, the section on getting the proportions right helped a whole lot. This was a good course, and I would recommend it.

The course is excellent. I am learning tips on how to draw parts of the face that have in the past been very difficult for me.

I'm 45 now. I've been drawing off and one since I was in elementary school many many years ago, but I've never really taken any classes to really put me to where I want to be. I've never been great at drawing faces. Not out of my own head especially. I'm only about 35% of my way through the course now and I can already see a 100% improvement on my facial drawings. So, first of all....take the course. I highly recommend it. Second of all....do exactly what he says. If he says draw 100 eyes....draw 100 eyes. I numbered every single one that I drew. Then I compared my final ones with the first ones that I drew and I'm telling you....I was impressed with the difference. The only other thing I recommend is to draw sets of eyes. Don't just draw 100 left eyes or 100 right eyes. Draw 100 sets of eyes left and right. I think that's actually what he meant, but my first 40 or so where just right eyes. Then when I tried to draw the left....I had to start all over again training my hand. He has other courses out there and I've purchased several and I can't wait to get started on them once I'm finished with this one.

This course was extremely effective and beneficial - not just toward meeting the objective of the course (drawing sexy comic faces), but also to my overall skill set and understanding of spacial relationships in the human face. There were a couple reasons this course greatly exceeded my expectations:
1. Mr. Fontaine is a talented artist, but more important, he understands teaching methodology. The part/whole approach and detailed breakdown of each micro component ensured that the final macro product was seamless.
2. Most components offered more than one suggestion for how to approach construction. For example, he demonstrates several different techniques for noses, not just the one he prefers. I found that it was very easy for me to develop my own style while advancing through the course.
At any rate, I was shocked at how quickly my skills (which had a solid 20-year layer of dust and not really that great to begin with) progressed. For me, it was the perfect mix of advanced and fundamental theory.
