Howdy, I’m Paul! I have a master's degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology and I used to work for Apple.
After working at Apple, I decided that I wanted more freedom. I started my own app company and followed the money (you can too). Instead of reporting to a boss – I set my own hours and enjoy my work.
I’m passionate about teaching around the world – most recently I taught high school kids in Athens, Greece how to make iPhone games (technology skills have their perks!). People all over the world use my courses to jump-start their careers into iPhone apps.
You wouldn’t believe the opportunities, freedom, and jobs that iOS development opens to you. Sign up and find out for yourself why so many people are taking my iPhone app courses.
I believe my courses provide the most complete and comprehensive background for any beginner or experienced developer. If you don’t agree I will happily refund your money.
Sign up for my Swift and iOS courses and join me on an amazing adventure to the App Store.

I am half way through and this is one of the best course and resources I have come across especially for beginner to ...... . considering objective c lil complicated especially for newbies. Great. Also ,looks like Paul has abandoned the course .It would be great if Paul would come up with more new stuff, like on swift and other programming courses same way.

too long and complicated for me

Good teaching. I would give it a higher rating but the course is a bit outdated and incomplete. More advanced stuff that is really needed, like parse is not included. If he had a more updated and more complete course I would give it a full five stars.

This is the best iOS iPhone dev introductory course on Udemy i've seen so far. I like the way Paul structured the topics into two parts, one for theory and the other one for trying it out in Xcode. Super easy for people even without any dev experience to follow. Another highlights is the adhoc explanation of common errors, saving me a lot of time from bashing my head with weird problems.

The instructor was clearly knowledgeable in the language and utilized different modes of teaching to get the material to you. The course had presentation and coding lecture with every topic. The presentation introduces you to the ideas, and the coding lectures reinforce the material. This is a fantastic course for anyone looking to learn Objective-C.

Flat out the course for iOS development. The Big Nerd Ranch books are good, but if you need to get a specific app written, this is the course. One of the more difficult aspects of programming iOS is setting up the environment with provisioning, etc. This is also addressed in this book. I'm not a very experienced programmer, and whenever I try to search for solutions online it's tough for me to figure out what parts of a person's code apply to what I'm trying to do. This book does a good job of focusing on one task at a time, and explains why each part is necessary. If you are just buying one course, this should be the one.

This Developer has really taken his time to break down the intricate details of the operating system and explain to the learner how it works. Justin the first 20 sessions he has unlocked in detail many parts of the language that I was confused about and was unable to grasp with other materials I had purchased over the last several years. I have also purchased his 2ed set of lectures.Awesome class!

On the whole this course was ok. If I had the option I would have chosen 2.5 stars, but because I don't want to be negative I opted for 3. I took it because I really wanted to learn Obj-C and already had a grounding in C so I thought this course would fulfil my learning requirements. I felt that until section 12 I really wasn't learning anything new, and got a little frustrate at this point that I'd got through nearly half of the course without learning anything new. There were quite a few times where I was following along in xcode and listening to the lecture, which was fine, but as we're coding them up I was left thinking 'OK, I get part of this, but why am I doing this again? And why does this part go here and not here?'. I really don't feel like the syntax, hierarchy and structure of Obj-C was properly explored, and that is what I would have expected of a course aimed at an introductory level. Sometimes it felt like he was on autopilot going through the code. I get and can see that he's a good Obj-C coder, but we aren't and I feel like there needed to be a lot more breadth on the Obj-C specific concepts rather than the pure C ones that we just forget about. I will keep my eye out for the more advanced course, because I've now got a half finished app that I want to take further to get to that 'dream app' that was advertised in the lectures, but I will pay close attention to the topics taught before I make a purchase, if at all. Paul's teaching style may be right for you, but sadly (and I genuinely feel bad saying this as I think you can tell Paul is actually a nice guy and I'd buy him a beer if I could) I'm going to be asking for a refund for this course as I'm not sure I'm any wiser coming out of it than when I went in.

I had been looking for a good course to start learning about Objective-C, and since iOS 7 just came out not long ago, I wanted a course that would be up to date. I tried other courses here and there but it just didn't feel right. not as clear or not as practical as i wished. This course is absolutely the right solution. It has a very well balanced mix of content in the right amount of depth, the concepts are clearly explained and then used in practical exercises, and Mr Solt is clearly an expert in his field. The audio is good quality and clear, easy to listen to. And the slideshows are also well designed, which makes it appealing on the eyes. Im definitely satisfied with this course and hope that Mr Solt makes more courses in the near future. Looking forward to see whats the next step!

I'm a Computer Science student and I have a fair amount of experience in Java and C++. However, my school does not have a iOS Dev course, and I've found it increasingly difficult to find resources to learn Objective-C. I found this course, and everything is an absolute breeze. It's very easy to understand and I follow along with XCode and a notebook in hand - jotting down things and concepts I am unfamiliar with. You don't need any sort of programming background to learn this, Paul teaches the basics of programming flat out just as I learned them. With some dedication and a little perseverance, you'll be well on your way to building iPhone Applications. I can't wait for the more advanced courses.
