Howdy, I’m Paul! I have a master's degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology and I used to work for Apple.

After working at Apple, I decided that I wanted more freedom. I started my own app company and followed the money (you can too). Instead of reporting to a boss – I set my own hours and enjoy my work.

I’m passionate about teaching around the world – most recently I taught high school kids in Athens, Greece how to make iPhone games (technology skills have their perks!). People all over the world use my courses to jump-start their careers into iPhone apps.

You wouldn’t believe the opportunities, freedom, and jobs that iOS development opens to you. Sign up and find out for yourself why so many people are taking my iPhone app courses.

I believe my courses provide the most complete and comprehensive background for any beginner or experienced developer. If you don’t agree I will happily refund your money.

So, I'm about halfway through and of the four courses I have taken on Udemy, this is by far the best. The instructor TEACHES instead of simply saying, "follow along." He also encourages the student to find the answer on their own, and explore the programming language. The only issue is the compatibility of the new versions of xcode; some of the older functions in xcode do not work in the newer version. However, this has only occurred a few times, and each time I was able to find the updated coding. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in learning Swift and building apps, it also helps to have some basic level of programming skills (but probably not necessary).

I had registered for many Swift courses, this one was one of the most organized and professional ones. The instructor has a deep understanding of the material and great teaching techniques. He always responded to questions I asked even when it was something outside the scope of this course :)

Many contents and concept but I wish it was more organized and focused.

Paul is knowledgeable, clear, and meticulous. He covers each topic carefully and explains all the technical words he uses. This course has kickstarted my desire to become a developer and will be a great resource to come back to even as Xcode and Swift go through changes. Highly recommend to brand new programmers hungry for a part in the Apple ecosystem.

I took a lot of Swift courses, here on this site and on many other sites, I've always reached a certain point where it gets either boring, or a lot of stuff were left uncovered. And just when I was about to lose hope in paid Swift tutorials, I decided to give this course a chance, and I was really shocked. The way Paul explains stuff is incredibly clear, and he goes into all the details, the process of the course was a bit weird for me in the first few lessons of Day 1 and Day 2, I thought it wasn't right to start coding directly when you don't know what's really going on under the hood, but it all made sense as the course went on, everything was explained clearly, everything was linked together, and Paul proved that his method of teaching works much better than most if not all other authors. I highly recommend this course to everyone who's coming from other programming languages which was my case, and I believe this course fits perfectly to those with zero programming background. Thumbs up to Paul, and I can't even express how pleased I am that I took this course.

I was thoroughly enjoying this course until I hit lecture 18 and ran into a missing resource file. That was over a month ago... and there are students who (according to the discussions) have been trying to get response from this instructor on this issue for over two months. Udemy support says they can do nothing, instructor is non-responsive. My suggestion to you: DO NOT TAKE ANY COURSES BY THIS INSTRUCTOR until he shows some sign of life. Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware!).

Every now and then we come across gems in our respective subjects of interest, whether it's Kobe Bryant in Basketball, Philz Coffee of the coffee world, Peyton Manning/Tom Brady in football, et al. The main reason for these these figures to capture our hearts and mind is because they do stuff that is so great and practically transcending. The latter is, at minimum, a reason for short term fame (it becomes long term if innovation and creation can begin and continue). To me, in all my years appreciating the person-to-person learning landscape, I have come across only come across a few instructors that were transcending as teachers. Of course, you can already guess where I am going with this. Yes, Paul has fit that mold for me. HIs teaching style, structure, and content should yield nothing less than expert-level for anyone taking his courses (at least this one). I can't speak for his other courses, but with his teachings on Swift, he has essentially given the whole package on what is required to truly learn something. Some of those "little things" that he has incorporated, which are super duper valuable, include explanations of the "gotchas", and really drilling through what makes those pesky, confusing, and nebulous problems really frustrating things to tackle. He has done a great job of leading us through those issues where "we don't know what we don't know". Keep up the good work. Anytime I come across a Swift expert, the first thing I will ask them is if they took your course! Cheers --Albert.

can you send for me all resource into my email ? Thank.

Paul does a very good job in teaching the fundamentals of the Swift programming language. Something that sets the course apart from others are the active discussion boards and Paul answers questions frequently and provides additional help. Paul also updates and adds to the course content frequently. The exercises and challenges presented during the course are also very helpful. I would highly recommend the course to anyone interested in learning how to develop apps for the iPhone.

Paul Solt does a great job of taking you from ground zero in this course. He is clear, concise, and takes the time to explain the concepts in a way that programmers and non-programmers can follow. I'm at lecture 82, and as a fairly seasoned programmer in other languages (Ruby, Java), his course makes it easy and rewarding to learn Swift. He covers all the bases. Great course!
