In this training course for Adobe After Effects CS6, an expert trainer introduces you to this powerful, non-linear visual effects software from Adobe. This tutorial is designed for the beginner, with no previous experience in After Effects required.

Your lessons begin with an overview of what After Effects is, and what it can do. You will explore the workspace, and how that is used in your workflow. You then jump head first into creating your first project, and importing assets. Once you are are comfortable with the interface and basics of managing your project, this computer based training course teaches you how to use features such as layers, adding and animating text, working with shapes, using paint tools and masks as well as animating objects. You learn how to apply effects and transitions, how to use expressions, about tracking motion, how to work in 3D space, and finally, saving and exporting your project.

With over 15 hours of training in this video tutorial, but the time you have completed it, you will have a deep understanding of the fundamentals of After Effects CS6 and how to apply what you have learned to your own projects. Extensive working files and assets are included to allow you to work alongside the author using the same files he is throughout the training, allowing you to reproduce the same results on your own.

This course gave me what I needed as an absolute beginner with AE. I'm a long time user of Premiere and just wanted a basic course to get me up and running in AE. From here I can now focus on covering the parts I need in more detail.
Sure you can look up each problem as you come to it but watching a structured video series like this is far faster and also shows you processes and approaches you might not even have considered.
It's just a shame Jeff doesn't do an Intermediate to Advanced level course. I know there are some on here but the Instructors are a little hard to understand at times due to their accent.

Jeff is an incredible instructor. His course, and dialog are superb. Jeff never stumbles, or says 'um', or any other word that makes you think that he is anything other than a complete AE expert. He takes you from the raw beginning to the finished end. Teaching you all of the AE options, abilities, and keyboard shortcuts. If you are a beginner, I cannot recommend this course enough. As an addition, Jeff has a wonderful voice to listen to. There are no mistakes, no idioms, just a very knowledgeable instructor helping you to understand all of the features of AE.
