Course Description
In this Revit MEP 2016 training course, expert author Tim Dundr teaches you the basics of using Revit to design mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This course is designed for the absolute beginner, meaning no previous Revit MEP experience is necessary.
You will start with a tour of the 2016 user interface, including how to customize the interface and use keyboard shortcuts. You will then learn how to use the basic creation and editing tools, such as copy and paste, rotate, mirror, and extend and trim. Tim will show you how to start a new MEP project, explaining the various views, spaces, and zones you will be working with. This video tutorial also covers topics including building performance analysis, HVAC, hydronic piping systems, and plumbing and fire protection systems. You will also learn about electrical systems and electrical panel schedules. Finally, you will learn about documentation, how to set up and use worksharing, and how to present your finished projects.
Once you have completed this computer based training course, you will have developed the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to create your own projects in Revit MEP 2016. Working files are included, allowing you to follow along with the author throughout the lessons.

Very helpful. Would have been 5 stars if linking models was covered, or linking workshared models, or how to even set up my project using a workshared model Architect has shared with me. I'm just getting into Revit and it is an absolute pain just setting up the project so that I can start working in it. (Electrical design).

I am a recent college graduate looking to get into the MEP industry and this course provided a great introduction to Revit. I have Revit 2021, so I had to wait for each file to be upgraded to the new version which was kind of a hassle; it would be nice if the files could be updated for newer versions of Revit. That is my only complaint. There were a few differences between Revit 2021 and the version used by the instructor, but I had very few issues.

For me, this course was 5 out of 5 even though I'm mostly interested in the electrical portion and this was mostly geared towards mechanical. I only give it half a star off because, if you don't know CAD at all, you might struggle to keep pace.. also the included revit files didn't sync with the course. example;; see chapter 19, but the material was in chapter 20.. but to me.. no big deal and the instructor is excellent!!

Sadly it does not have any actual Revit link or some libraries.

I feel that this gave a great foundation for those who have not used Revit yet. The course, I feel was very comprehensive in giving any user regardless of their discipline a way to utilize Revit in their field of expertise.
