Learning Maxon Cinema 4D - A Beginners Training Course (Udemy.com)

I'm 80% through this course and have enjoyed the challenge of understanding C4D. It's 6.5 hrs long, but I'd say set aside 12hrs +, so you can listen, pause, create your own version of the lesson & repeat throughout the course. This course will give you an understanding of the basics of everything C4D. The only way to digest everything [like any other learning process] is practice. I plan to use this course as reference with future C4D projects.

The course was a great introduction to a complicated bit of software. Some of it was a very high level overview-- I would have liked more depth and to know why he did certain things, but again, this is an intro course. I also wish he didn't always draw a new cube for every single project, it would be nice if so many (not just this one) online teachers had more elements prepared for their lessons and didn't always make a squiggle or cube each time. Overall very well presented, quite a few examples, and a good explanation of all the major components and functions of the interface and software. Thank you!

This beginners Cinema 4D course is super very easy to follow. I like that I can pause, rewatch and I don't feel overwhelmed. There is tons of information, and even with newest 2019/2020 version, it's still applicable. Like this a lot.

06-15-2019 I have completed a good portion of the course. This course touches on different features of Cinema 4D. Although, if you have Cinema 4D Lite that comes with the Adobe CC AE version you will NOT be able to do many of the exercises in this course. He is using a version that is on the Upscale of Cinema 4D. So you will be lost and get annoyed that you cannot participate in these lessons. If you wanna spend $9.99 on the course and watch to learn and do a little bit then go for it. I would NOT recommend this course to anyone that ONLY has the Cinema 4D Lite version that comes with Adobe CC. Update above... So far the course has been very basic in explaining how to use various aspects of the Cinema 4D Lite. I was not for sure if this course would give me more exercises to do and real-life examples so I took a chance. I still don't know and hoping this will get a little better as I go forward in learning.

So far I am 3 lessons in. the instructor is clear and concise. evidently knowledgable and covers plenty of his quotes with visual evidence/exhibit. Update: I'm now at 60% the way through the course. The instructor is still very clear and concise with his explanations; his use of examples really makes the software easier to understand and in cases such as ambient occlusion, really points out differences when changing settings. So far this has made Cinema 4D much less intimidating to enter!

I came to this course as nearly a complete beginner to Cinema 4D. I had the light version of the software and, after playing with it for awhile, decided to take the plunge to get the full studio. Before taking this course, the only thing i had done was a few tutorials on YouTube that, while pretty fun, didn't truly explain how they were modeling or why they were making the choices they had made while modeling. This course really filled in that missing information... well, for the most part, but before I get to that, let me say, this course greatly improved my understanding of Cinema 4D and gave me a much clearer picture the tools at my disposal. I only have 2 knocks against this course, one i consider major, and one minor. First the minor, this is for version 14, which at this point makes this course WAY out of date. I'd say 96% of what is taught is still applicable, but there are a few things that definitely don't translate. For example, reflection on materials is handled completely differently so i had to stop the course and google how to do that correctly now as the menu is pretty different now. The major, and it's really the only complaint I felt popping up again and again as I took this course, was that there was never a clear explanation to the theory behind some of the instructions given. A specific example: using the knife tool while modeling to impact the final look of the model when a subdivision surface (called Hypernurbs in this course, since the name changed post-R14) is applied. I saw the difference, but i wanted a clean explanation of when and why to do that, as opposed to just the given answer, "ah, yeah, that looks better." Overall, very helpful course and glad to have taken it.

Sono partito da zero su Cinema 4D (avevo già seguito un corso di Maya ma non avevo alcuna conoscenza su altri software per il 3D) e con questo corso ho imparato sia le basi, di utilizzo, modellazione, luci, animazione e render; sia funzioni più avanzate e modalità di lavoro molto comode che ho assimilato e modificato in base al mio metodo, scusate la ripetizione, di lavoro. Nonostante alcuni piccoli problemi con i sottotitoli, non ho avuto alcuno sforzo nel comprendere le varie spiegazione, anche tecniche, presenti nel corso. Consigliato per chi vuole approcciarsi al mondo del 3D.

Before i began with this course i only knew that maxon cinema was a great software but i didnt know how the tools worked. Now i feel like i have a good base to move forward with and explore other materials for maxon cinema.

This course was my first intro to C4D. Most of my previous experience before was in Blender so the general content was not completely new but the way of working with the interface was. I really appreciate the concise explanations. It moves fast but it stays engaging. I am glad I took it and I think this course has inspired me to keep going with this software and integrate it with the tools I already use. Thanks!

As someone completely new to C4D this was a great starting point. + Very good breakdown of the fundamentals. + Some of the examples are pretty basic but if you're new to the software, I think this is fine* + The instructor has a pleasant voice which is a big plus. (Refrains from using "uh.. um" which is common in YouTube tutorials) *- The robot the instructor builds at the end is simple. Would love to see an advanced build. - More Mograph lessons would have been nice. This seems to be the big draw why people are using C4D nowadays.
