Testimonials

  • One of the most underrated courses on swift. Great way to refresh your Swift knowledge if you have already been programming in Swift. Captures the practical way of writing programs in swift and is concise. I have been programming on Swift from the time it was released and wanted something I could use as a guide. I actually came across the authors video on youtube , liked his teaching style and way he presents the content. Please keep making these videos on Udemy and also YouTube. This should be one of the top rated courses for swift.

  • Personally this course was exactly what I was looking for. It assumes some programming knowledge but is a really thorough yet concise language description. Jonathan has a great natural delivery style and is and the material is excellent. The concentration on practice and doing is particularly welcome.

  • I like the way Jonathan teaches, then gives practice examples for you to code on your own so you can properly apply each concept you've learned. This is the second class I've taken by him and I must say, it is much easier learning swift from an iOS Engineer.

  • Jonathan is very organized, has great didactics and his course was really fun! His Github repository for this course is excellent, with all the code and complete annotations, providing a great resource to study and review the topics. Many thanks for sharing your expertise with us Jonathan!

  • This is the best Swift course I've taken. Understanding getters and setters totally clicked for me here as well as when and how to use enums effectively as types, pattern matching, so much more. The instructor is engaging and motivating. Can't imagine how awesome it must've been for other dev's to work on the same team as the Instructor, truly! Thank you for the exceptional course!

Nice tempo, I like references to other languages. For me, someone who have learned programing basics 20+ years ago with Fortran, Pascal and C it was quite a discovery that some types are in fact passed by value and some by reference without ^ or & xD But I'm not developer, just trying to get back on track and I find this lecture very helpful.

It could be very useful to have an ability to download code with samples. I would like to know more about memory management, Unit Tests, UIKit, custom animation in Swift, storing data, multithreading. This course is very-very basic.

Great crash course for swift. Instructor does a good job of breaking down the principles and explaining them in a generic computer science manner. Should really matter what language you come from, the concepts and syntax should be pretty to pick up during this course.

I think this guy is an incredible teacher. I am already becoming a better programmer watching these videos. I do wish he did more typing instead of cut and pasting to slow the pace a little though. At the same time, I understand why he does this. I will be taking more of his classes in the future.

Another great course from Mr. Rasmusson! I think his lectures cover the gap between the traditional courses like "Build your first app with swift" and actually creating a decent portfolio in order to apply for a junior iOS developer job. I wish functional programming section would've been longer, but overall this course gives you more confidence in swift.

Some parts of the course should have been explained more, like closures, enums. Overall good course.

Jonathan's way of explaining technical concepts is great, a new course on design patterns based on the book "Head First Design Patterns: Building Extensible and Maintainable Object-Oriented Software" by Eric Freeman and Elisabeth Robson, but with swift instead of java, would be ideal!
