I am an experimental hip-hop artist/producer from the Inland Empire, California. I have over 12 years of songwriting experience and over 15 years of production experience. I've released over 13 projects, as well as produced, engineered and ghost-written numerous other projects. I've played with bands and have developed my own wireless, self-DJing hip-hop stage show.
My hip-hop songwriting style encompasses extremely dense multi-syllable rhyming, metaphors and word play. I also incorporate complex themes and story telling. My overall style would be considered experimental.
My hip-hop production style encompasses heavy use of dense laying and sampling. I also incorporate loose, free form drums of varying styles. My overall style would be considered experimental.
I have over 3 years of teaching experience in all of the previously mentioned subjects.

I enjoyed this course thoroughly but I wished that there was more detailed explanation for the LOVE system: How to do it and implement it, the process essentially.

Once again, Very good course for those trying to excel in the art. Personally I was very close minded when it came to the way I did my music. Listening with an open mind does exactly that and will help to step up your music game as you move forward.

The course is simple but important. It lays down groundrules that are not there to restrickt you but to make sure you can really grow and avoid long lasting mistakes that may be hard to catch when your preforming them.

Definitely some nice tips in there, but I was hoping more focus on song structure and concrete examples. I think the teacher over-relies on vague speaking. I get that some of it is out of respect for other artists, but it also cheapens the experience, and makes it more forgettable. Ex. "there are so many things that you can get inspiration from, like just looking around this room... I see many things I could get inspired by." I mean, hot damn, tell me about your lamp at least. But in general, drop a bar or two. I get that it's scary that your students might not like what you brought, but it'll also make them respect you more. It's weird to run a course about lyric writing without a single example of lyrics.

I love lyricology and I've learned a lot from Andre but I learned more from the free course, you wont learn any skills or how to's in this course...if you're really trying to learn songwriting skills and being creative use that hour on a different course.

This course gives some good insight into songwriting and brought up some points I had never considered. I like Andre's laid back style of teaching which doesn't bore you or make you fast forward to the end of the section.

This was an excellent course. Very insightful, informative, and inspirational. Anyone who views this course will be a much better rapper/songwriter if they apply the techniques that the instructor provides.

This course is very very vivid. It implements some inconspicuous points that wouldn't be obvious at first impression. Well detailed, and has exponentially enthralled me. Thank you very much for constructing this course, Andre.
