Brendon Palmer

Hey there. I'm a DevOps Engineer who specializes in monitoring solutions.

Ive held many roles in the past: I was an English teacher, an Instrumentation Technician and Power Systems Engineer in the oil fields but, like you, I could not escape my passion for IT..

Within 4 years, I was able to obtain valuable IT certifications such as CCNA, RHCSA, CKAD and AWS.
Apart from private consulting and mentoring, I currently monitor a multi-region DevOps environment consisting of more than 5000 server instances.
Away from the desk, I commit to strength training, meditation, and I love to travel and spend time with my family.
Please be sure to stay updated as I routinely update existing courses and release more!

Great! I have the audio running at 1.5 speed. I am doing queries in my own env and learning all about promql.

By Lukasz Blazejowski on 9/16/2020

This course nicely goes through all of the prometheus options and settings. I miss in here some more in dept explanation why something is working, why do it in that way, more context of shared knowledge. As I wrote it is rather walk through the options and configuration rather than wider explanation. Dockerizing set-up is a benefit for me. Despite that I see it as a kind of goods start with Prometheus.

It could be better if commands used in the lectures could be attached as text format file for downloading

Way too much theory up front. Strong suggestion: move Section 4 right after the virtual machine install, and use the initial tutorials as motivation for the theory. This will be much less dry, and will let you use examples with the theory.

In general, this course is a good introductory. It gives the information that a beginner should know about Prometheus. It did help with my job. I would have given a five start if more advanced topics were covered.

Great and detailed course on prometheus stack

By Aeronittanylion@gmail.com on 8/23/2020

He reads the commands he types and not explain what the command does and the format of the code suppose to do.
