Course Description

Getting Started with Figma (4h) + Course Project

A beginner's to pro course in UI design with Figma

NEW! Full Config 2024 Update Featuring the New Figma UI Design!

This course is a comprehensive introduction to Figma from absolute beginner to advanced features. Short and focused, providing you with all you need to know to tackle any design.

We'll start from scratch by setting up your Figma account and familiarising ourselves with its file structure. Then, we'll dive into the fundamentals of Figma, such as setting up frames and nesting them, adding shapes, text, colours, and grids creating solid UI designs. Once you're comfortable with the basics, we dive into more advanced subjects like creating solid UI designs and working with components for reusable elements.

You'll learn how to establish styles and variables for consistency, create responsive designs with auto layout, and add basic prototyping to bring your designs to life—always keeping collaboration with development in mind.

With step-by-step exercises and valuable tips and tricks, you'll become proficient in Figma in under 4 hours. It's perfect for beginners or those transitioning from other design software.

I’m Christine Vallaure, founder of moonlearning. I run it as a deliberate solo business. Supported by smart automation and AI, but deeply human at its core. Every course is crafted and taught by me.

I’ve spent 15+ years in design and product. Agencies, startups, global brands, and my own products. I’ve been excited, stuck, overwhelmed, and back at square one more than once. Tools move fast. Expectations grow. It’s easy to feel like you’re always catching up.

What changed things for me wasn’t learning every new feature. It was understanding what’s happening under the hood. Not to become an engineer, but to design with clarity and control.

That’s what I teach. Practical skills that help you move faster without losing craft.

✔️ 15+ years in design and product (BMW, P&G, MetaDesign)

✔️ 2× Figma Config speaker

✔️ Awwwards Jury Member

✔️ International speaker on design-dev collaboration and solo building

✔️ Author of the Solo

This course was exceptionally well thought out and put together. I learned a lot about Figma, completed about 50% of the course material, and realized that it is not for me. I am creative through and through, and Figma hurts my brain. The instructor does a good job, and even though I will not be completing the course, it helped me realize that this program is not for me, and that's okay.

Excellent teacher with a relaxed yet enthusiastic approach for teaching complex topics. Emphasis on modern workflows and prototypes, including auto layout, responsive design and sharing with team members and others.

By Gordon Hulpieu on 3/14/2026

Great course!!! I would say this course would be very difficult with just a laptop. There is a lot to look at and try while working with the exercises. Speaking of the exercises, these are very important to do to get a feel for figma and all the bells and whistles.

By Morann K on 3/7/2026

There was new material I wasn't familiar with, but I wanted to delve deeper into components and automation and I felt like it wasn't enough. And it's not the lecturer's fault, but Figma changes the locations all the time and I couldn't find some of the explanations in the videos.

By Erin Cowell on 1/27/2026

This course was very put together and easy to follow. It's as close as youre going to get to having an actual person teaching it to you. My only complaint is that the videos sometimes stopped short and I couldn't get what she was saying at the very end.

By Valters S on 1/12/2026

This is probably one of the best courses I have ever enrolled in. It covers everything from basic to advanced in small bite-size chunks, and the presenter explains everything calmly, structured and professionally. Well done, very worth every penny and second. 100/10

By Gaël PONS on 12/22/2025

Straight to the point! The content is both precise and comprehensive. By methodically following each step and practicing the exercises, you will truly progress from beginner to expert. The rest depends on you, your practice, and your curiosity.

By Matthew Lucas on 12/10/2025

This course was fantastic! Just what I was after. A comprehensive look over Figma from start to finish. Even if you have been using Figma for a few years like myself, this course provides heaps of tips and tricks to help you along the way and fill in any gaps you may have. Thank you so much for this course, it was amazing!! Don't spend thousands of dollars on a figma course, join this one, you won't be disappointed.

By Martin Dimitrov on 11/27/2025

Wonderful course! Very well structured! Covers the most important details. No unnecessary explanations. Straight to the point! Christine explains in an understandable way with her nice, soothing, warm voice. Thank you for the great course!

By Robert Davis on 10/20/2025

I like how it is very straight to the point and clearly explained. Doing the projects and practice work on the side takes a good amount of the time used in learning so it's great when the video instruction doesn't have too much filler, making it easy to find and replay sections where you need to go back.
