It is not a theoretical course, it teaches you the tools, shortcuts and tricks to make pixel art. You provide the creativity. This course helped me a lot.

Great course. Covers pixel art techniques in an interesting and useful way so that you can apply them in your own art. An added bonus is that using aseprite is clearly demonstrated and I now know more ways to use the software. Recommended.

Wow this course really teach in a good way, i did not know much about making pixel art before this course but now i make some really cool things just by my self and will start build my game. Would be a solid 5 star but sometimes the teacher forgets to tell shortcuts for program or just go on a little to fast. No worry tho if you want to start making pixel art an are new to it then this is for you.

First time user friendly and you can produce satisfying work with easy effort! I'm finding myself more immersed in this artstyle as I am learning and I'm thoroughly enjoying the process. Thank you Jan for such an amazing course!

A somewhat quirky but rich journey into pixel art. He doesn't always explain the technical details of what he's doing initially, as the course starts out with a more relaxed approach, but further in there's plenty to learn as the art gets more detailed. Overall there's a lot of content variety covering large and small objects, nature, tile creation and clever re-use of tiles, patterning and eventually character animation and UI elements. I'd certainly consider this one of the best pixel art courses available on the site and Jan's quirkiness is fun to watch. Worth watching again from the beginning.

Not that much of a course here. The guy is mostly just painting something and commenting like "that's good", "I like to do it like this" etc. Clearly not enough explanation for what I would expect from a paid course.

I am really enjoying doing this course! Im trying to push this its my current goal, an its nice to feel like im learning. Comeing from being a complete novice. Currently im 20% through the course, more lessons have been added during my time so far been going at it just more than a month. its taking me long as im also trying to fulfil the activities Jan advises, at the part 2 way stone where we drew a front view house in pixel art style using textures and shading iv tried my best to draw another 8 buildings the past 2 weeks for my own practice. Thank you for being so Passionate Jan Rienacker, your lessons are packed full of challenges and learning. Hopefully one day your course will be my first on Udemy I can claim a certificate for. :)
