Our take
Based on the ratings of 12,488 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in August 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
Gregory Caremans teaches a pop version of the Neurocognitive and Behavioral Approach, a French model that splits the brain into four structures (reptilian, paleo-limbic, neo-limbic, pre-frontal) and ties each one to stress, confidence, motivation and obsessions. It's 72 lectures in about 3.5 hours, plus 19 written articles. The syllabus shows a short section on each brain structure, then a 46-minute wrap-up on real life applications. This is a self-help course with a science framing, not a neuroscience class, and it suits curious people who want a tidy model for their own behavior rather than research detail.
Reviewers keep using the same words: clear, digestible, entertaining. One reviewer with no neuroscience background says the explanation was easy to follow, and another says the exercises helped with real situations. The instructor gets warm thanks for his passion. The complaints are mild but consistent. A one-star review calls the humor and side content unprofessional and wanted more detail and less filler, and two others found the presentation flat. Others want more worked examples, note that the eight personality types are explained in a PDF rather than on video, and say the music between sections is too loud. With 12,488 reviews and a 4.6 average, the grumbles are a small minority.
The material was refreshed in August 2025, so it isn't stale, though the model comes from one school of thought, Dr Fradin's, rather than a survey of the field. Beside the assertiveness and soft skills courses in the same list, this one is about self-understanding rather than drilling a skill, and it's paid with a certificate at the end. For anyone who wants a framework for why they freeze under stress or chase the wrong motivations, it's a well liked, easy afternoon. Anyone hoping for citations and lab detail should look elsewhere.
Pros
- Explains the four-brain model plainly enough that a reviewer with no neuroscience background followed it
- Short lectures, 72 of them in about 3.5 hours, so it fits into a weekend
- Exercises and self-questions tie each brain structure to the student's own life
- Refreshed in August 2025 and carries 8 caption tracks
Cons
- Humor and side content strike a one-star reviewer as unprofessional filler; two others found the presentation flat
- The eight personality types live in a PDF rather than on video, and a reviewer wants more worked examples
- Built on a single framework (Fradin's NBA), not a survey of the neuroscience literature
Very good explanation and easily understandable with someone has no background with neuroscience.
All levels is accurate: no prior knowledge needed, just a willingness to answer personal questions and do the exercises.
What you will learn
- A groundbreaking model of human behavior that will help you gain well-being, improve your relationships, and ultimately take control of your own life

Course Description
Congratulations! You just found the N°1 bestselling course about Brain Science on Udemy!
Discover the NeuroCognitive and Behavioral Approach. Learn how 4 brainstructures run our lives and how to take control
The NBA (or Neurocognitive and Behavioral Approach) is a fascinating, innovative and multi-disciplinary approach born out of 25 years of scientific research. It combines the fields of neurosciences, social psychology, behavioral sciences and many more to come up with one overlaying, comprehensive theory which gives unique insights in our complex human nature. It was originally developed by the French scientist J. Fradin.
As the director of the Institute of Neurocognitivism I had the chance to work with Dr Fradin and become an expert in his groundbreaking approach. I've developed this course as to make his work accessible to all, regardless of background or prior knowledge. I'm much more a communicator than a scientist myself. And that's exactly my contribution to his work: explaining complex matters in a comprehensive and entertaining way.
Over 69.000 students enrolled. Raving 5 star reviews:
"...Every lecture is packed with information that is presented very clearly. The lectures offer both insight and techniques to improve personal development."
“...quality is top. It was a joy to watch this course. Recommended."
“... the best part about the course is its intention to disseminate how you can benefit from applying the knowledge learned in real life situations, not just learning the information for learning's sake. Highly recommended!"

This course is fitting perfectly into my current life. I feel like I am learning how my mind and body works and how to be more productive with that knowledge.

thank you, Gregory, for sharing your knowledge and teaching us so well to understand ourselves or our brain and others better. I do really appreciate your work, your passion and love for this topic to help other people.

I learnt very valuable information about how the brain works, and have a better understanding of how to deal with different situations with the given exercises. I wish there were more examples covered to even master this subject further.

This is such an awesome and exceptional course on brain. Whole lot of people are trying to impress the world by showing their unique observations but actually this course has simply explained the functioning of our life in highly systematic manner. This knowledge is faaaaar more useful and righter than listening to ten different observers of brain and getting misguided by their impractical help.
By Mabelle Fadrigo on 2/9/2026
Very good explanation and easily understandable with someone has no background with neuroscience.
By Serenade Pugh on 1/6/2026
I like what this course has to offer. The different contents means you receive a wide view of how the brain works, why it works the way, and which part of the brain is responsible for specific things. Its very interesting

Every time I'm in a conflict situation, I tent to freeze, searching for protection when I feel overwhelmed or threatened. With this material I can change my approach and improve my self confidence, knowing how to approach the other person.
By Fatima Eanjum on 11/8/2025
I thought it would be more detailed, but it had too much random, unnecessary content in between. It should have been professional and to the point, not funny. Plus, the biggest drawback is the certificate — I expected it to come directly from the coach, like other courses on Udemy. I would appreciate it if you could issue the certificate from your institute and send it to me by email. My email address is Fatimejaz.360@hotmail.com and my full name is Fatima Eanjum. Regards

Love this course. I've read about trauma and the brain and taken other courses, but this instructor has a way of explaining things that makes them stick and that reduce them to an easily-digestible amount of information that I am immediately able to apply in my mind to many situations. I already feel so empowered. Highly recommend. Would have loved a more complete resource package with summaries for each section, or copies of slides. But other than that, amazing.
By Rishab Sharma on 9/27/2025
I'll try my best to use this theory on me whenever I'll be having argument with someone (no matter if the other person is reaction over flee, fight, or freeze mode). This might help me controlling my anger and not behaving in a way that creates memories for future.
