Course Description
Welcome to MicroPython and the Internet of Things, a beginner tutorial that will introduce you to the exciting world of microcontrollers and small-form Internet enabled devices. On the hardware side, the tutorial is centered around the ESP8266 chip, an inexpensive, yet unbelievably powerful microcontroller. As far as software, I'm going to show you how to program this little device with MicroPython, a lightweight version of the Python language that is designed to run on devices with limited resources.

Really enjoying this. You have to allow for the fact that it's hard to see the wires being connected (and tricky if you've got a wide development board to follow the row and column references... shoulda got the right dev board, right?)... also rshell is pretty much dead for Windows, but Thonny is way better anyway and you can still follow the tutorial (IDE rather than humble repl, so all good). It's well delivered and all of the fiddly downsides are a challenge that will make you stronger. But hey, I've only just fiished the second section!

Really like that I can clearly understand him, and the speed that he is teaching at is perfect. Not too slow, and not too fast. He breaks it down into easy to understand pieces.

I'm definitely enjoying this. It's refreshing from the Java software I've been writing over the past 16 years. I got me a new hobby, thank you.

Learning much more than expected on all levels, not just coding, but hardware and use of tools etc.

This course is a well structured introduction to micropython on esp8266. I got a lot of inspirations to build my own weatherstation in the next months. Thank you very much for this. Hopefully Miguel will continue to present some more courses in this area.
