Course Description
This course is specifically developed for B. Tech. and M. Tech/MS students of all Engineering disciplines. Engineering students from all branches can take this course and apply the knowledge to solve optimization problems in their field as part of a mini-project or capstone project. In addition to this, the course is also useful to Ph. D. students of different engineering branches. This course can be taken by everyone irrespective of their programming knowledge. The basics of MATLAB programming is taught in the beginning of the course and the concept of optimization algorithms is also explained from the scratch. The content is so organized that the learner should be able to understand Engineering optimization from scratch and solve research problems leading to publication in an international journal of high repute. A guided project is also included at the end of the course to make sure students can apply the knowledge to real engineering optimization problems. It should be useful to students of all universities around the world.
This course is divided into FOUR Parts
Part I - Basics of MATLAB Programming
Part 2 - Concept of Optimization and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm
Part 3 - MATLAB Implementation of PSO algorithm to solve benchmark functions
Part 4 - MATLAB Implementation of PSO Algorithm to solve a typical Engineering optimization Problem

I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, an autonomous institute established in 1947. After learning about stochastic optimization algorithms I have implemented the knowledge to write a research article. I work in the field of Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm, and Teaching-Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm.

The course is excellent to build your undestanding on the basics of PSO algorithms. However, there are several aspects that can be improved. One of which is the addition of subtitles because I had quite a hard time understanding the accent.

Dear Sir, Explanation was good and worthy ican understand all the concepts except the last problem which i i cant reproduce the same like u did it.. The final problem was taught in a hurry and i can't get the same result as u got it. may i know what are the other changes to be done clearly so that i can reproduce the same as u got even F,D,S,H,M values are in negative and no way near the specified range. and in negative. please clarify sir. thank you.

This course has really helped me in understanding Basics of Optimization theory. Both course instructors are explaining it better since they not only mentioning concept but also explaining MATLAB implementation. I can't wait to get into different topics

This course is well structured and very interesting as everything is well explained with easy understanding examples. As i am doing research on nature inspired optimization algorithms, this course is more than helpful to me. Electrical, Mechanical, Computer science and Chemical Engineering field should study this course if planning project in this area

Very nice step-by-step clear explanation of every single algorithm detail. Very funny and entertaining spelling mistakes which make it really down-to-earth personality. Thank you so much! If you want to publish paper-based on optimization in your area of research or interest then this course is perfect for you

This course is awesome, the way he teaches and represents things is really easy to understand and visualize. My note on this course is that your guys should use a notebook to note down briefly the built-in functions syntax and uses, that gonna speed up the learning curve a lot. If looking for an Engineering project then this is the right course.
