This course helped me to expand my knowledge about elements of composition and also put it into practice with three different photo adventure assignments. It was fun and helpful to watch Phil do a photo challenge from his own back yard for some of these compositional elements. This course also gives you some additional resources like an electronic workbook and the Photography & Friends website.

Not sure what the negative reviews are yapping about but anytime I purchase a course made by phill . They are always very informative and helpful. I strongly recommend this course to any and everyone no matter their skill level . This course has really helped me improve my composition and even understanding of it ! Thank you to all the instructors who participated in this

They covered a lot of ground in this class. I got a small taste of many techniques and now I have a better idea of what I want to learn more about. I recommend this class for people who are new to photography and want an overview of what is possible. It is also appropriate for people who only use the camara on their phone.

Fantastic little course that covers the basics of composition BRILLIANTLY. My only complaint is that the audio in the videos with JP and Lydia was quite low, so I don't know if these could be re-edited with boosted sound and reuploaded? Besides that, this was great, and I'll refer to the written resources often. Thanks, gang! :)

I wish it could be longer than a couple of hours. The course itself is very good and explained very well... but I have the feeling that it was kept far too short. However, amazing job.

The examples shown were really good. There are a lot of topics that seem really quick and easy but there's really no expanding on them other than trying to take the photo yourself. Many things were covered and a lot of tips were given! Really enjoyed the course.

The instructors never gave me an impression that this was a job they had displeasure teaching, or doing. In fact, quite the opposite. They are eager, and happy to share their knowledge. I never got bored listening to them. However,it’s the technical parts of the course that brings the score down. Audio levels for the video's most of the time are a little too quiet. I needed to use a chrome extension to boost the sound. The real world demonstration videos sometimes talk about subjects that we are not introduced to yet. And I did need to ask a few questions to understand the material. Despite all those shortcomings, I feel like my shots are a lot better because of this class. Before this class I only used the rule of thirds, because that's all I knew. While I can't say I'm an expert, I feel as though the knowledge this class holds definitely will make anyone a stronger photographer. If you are a beginner and want to learn the basics of photo composition, this class is a great place to start.

My knowledge of composing a photograph before this course were very vague, now I have a great understanding of composition and they are all really well explained throughout this course. Being able to see others work whilst learning is also a very valuable way to look back at your own work and gives you the confidence that you are actually learning. Very pleased I signed up for this course!

As a “newbie” in the photographic world, I found this particular course very informative. I didn’t even have a camera to start with but now I can begin to creatively pursue my new hobby with a sense of a bit of knowledge & understanding. Thanks for the informative information!

By Nicholas Del Duca on 11/25/2019

This course was decent however it was a lot of of here is what you do just follow these steps, try these tricks do it this way etc. It's helpful teaching you concepts but it doesn't really give you an idea of why the concepts exist or give you any idea of why they work and the psychology behind them.
