The instructor spoke at a nice, even, pace. He pointed out several items such as saving your presentation as a pdf or video, which I could have found by going through PowerPoint menus, but didn't. I was surprised by the "simple" PowerPoint capabilities I was unaware of that he fortunately pointed out. Good job.

I haven't used PowerPoint for over 16 years so I needed to go back to basics to relearn how to use it. I thoroughly enjoyed this course. I use Microsoft suite everyday but I've still been able to learn new tips and tricks that I didn't know were there (icons and buttons I've seen but never used or clicked on). I liked the delivery of the course, nice and steady, some steps repeated, lots of basic stuff which was actually really useful (we don't all know it all!!) and lots of technical stuff too but made really easy to understand and utilise. I'm off to put it all into practice!!

If you know the basics of Word or MS Office generally, then you know the basics as presented here. There's very little that someone who already knows Word couldn't figure out on their own. At times, it seems the instructor assumes the student doesn't know even standard, basic Windows conventions (like saving or opening files).

I was looking for something very basic in MS PowerPoint, something that assumed no knowledge whatsoever. The course is successful in that. I particularly like it that David Murray has also referred to Windows keyboard shortcuts, which are a handy way to get things done, even if they have become something of a lost technique with many users wanting to do everything with mouse clicks.

Being completely ignorant of PowerPoint wisdom, this course was exactly what I needed! Mr. Murray is knowledgable, friendly, and --best!--repeats himself so one doesn't have to rewind repeatedly to "catch that." Yes, it's a lot of material for the novice, but the printed material helps sort things out for later reference! Wonderful, wonderful presentation!

A few technical mistakes (use of [ and ] -- at one point David says [ is used to decrease size when he meant to say ]). His image frequently blocks what he's talking about. Infrequently he selects an option without explaining why he's selecting it especially in the last few sections.

This course gives a very good overview of PowerPoint for beginners. The instructor gave many examples of the useful features of the program. I enjoyed this course and look forward to learning more about how to use PowerPoint at an advanced level.

Even though I am not a computer beginner, I love the fact that the course does not make any assumptions, and I have already learned a few tricks of the trade which apply across applications. I love the rather short length of the segments which enable me to go and practice just that particular component.

The teacher explains things very clearly and carefully repeats the steps. I have had some experience with PowerPoint in the past but wanted a refresher. It went a little slow for me in the beginning, but turned out to be very helpful. I see some of his tips will be useful in MSPublisher, and Word also. I'm glad I took this course. I will continue with his advanced course. Looking forward to that!

The first few videos I watched were not all powerpoint specific. As I went through more if the videos, there was powerpoint specific material. There was still a lot of non-powerpoint specific material, for example most, if not all of the formatting information was the same as one uses on Word and Excel, although I must say the I did learn a couple of shortcuts that will be useful. Maybe my expectation was too high since I have used ppt. in the past but do not consider myself an intermediate user. Maybe the parts I have not seen yet will be more helpful to me. One great feature on this website is the option to change the speed at which both the video and the audio are palyed back. I found 1.5 times the original speed is a good pace. Will update this review after I go through more videos.
