Course Description

Welcome! My name's Adrian and I'm a professional Software Developer and a Udemy Instructor. Welcome to my set of Python PCEP practice tests! No matter if you wish to pass Python PCEP Certified Entry-Level Programmer or check your skills for a junior Python developer interview, these practice tests will help you gain more confidence and recap Python foundations.

The tests in this course are fully PCEP-aligned. The number and type of questions correspond 100% to the certification format. You'll have the same time limit and the same passing score as in the real exam. This means the tests are an excellent way to check your skills before you take the exam.

The tests don't just verify your knowledge, they also teach. The questions come with explanations that will help you understand why a certain answer is correct. However, keep in mind these tests are not a complete Python course and they are not intended for complete beginners. If you have never written a line of code before, you may first want to look for a dedicated PCEP course here on Udemy.

The time for each test is 45 minutes. The passing score is 70%. Each test contains 30 questions:

Exam Block #1 Computer Programming and Python Fundamentals (7 questions)
Exam Block #2 Control Flow (8 questions)
Exam Block #3 Data Collections (7 questions)
Exam Block #4 Functions and Exceptions (8 questions)

Adrian Wiech

Hi!

My name’s Adrian and I’m an engineering manager and a former senior software developer. I specialise in back-end languages such as Java and Python. My programmer portfolio also includes lots of database technologies: both SQL and NoSQL databases. I hold a Master’s Degree in Computer Science.

I have over 10 years of experience teaching people IT online. What makes my courses special is their practical background – I’m an active developer, not an IT theorist, so I know the best practices. I also know what programming skills are in demand.

My courses are:

- based on practice so that you don’t learn useless theory,

- straight to the point to save your time,

- easily digestible because I want you to understand it all without problems.

A helpful prep course that gives you a solid idea of what to expect on the PCEP exam. It’s not exactly like the actual test, though. The official test also includes tasks like ordering code snippets correctly. I still highly appreciated Adrian’s effort and explanations! For absolute beginners like me (or anyone who wants extra practice to fully grasp the concepts) I recommend getting the Edube package that includes both the exam and practice exam vouchers.

While I didn't score as high as I wanted on the actual exam, I did pass and I believe these practice tests helped. I certainly found out what areas need a bit of refreshing so there were only few questions that caught me off guard. Overall I would recommend these mock exam tests to anyone looking to get PCEP-30-02 certification!

By Amaar Jassim on 12/27/2023

These Mock Exams and Adrian's PCEP course enabled me to achieve 80% score on the examination. Highly recommend both courses for understanding of the PCEP modules and the mock exams (especially since I asked OpenEDG regarding Hexidecimal/Octal/Binary representations and what to expect in the exam and was told to review their free course for PCEP, Adrian's tests on the subject are not as overly complex if you understand the concepts (as an example, was asked to calculate a leap year in a coding lab, and if you don't know this/are avoiding google, this is difficult to accomplish.) but will keep you on your toes by doing more complex coding.) The exam as of taking it today included examples where you manipulate the blocks either assigning to the correct place (pieces of code that are strings, integers, floats, etc) or putting the blocks in the correct order for the code's syntax ([for] [x] [in] [range (] [1] [, 3)] [:] the []s used to simulate each separate moveable blocks to arrange in order.) This has encouraged me to attempt the PCAP course in the future again through Adrian's Udemy courses when I've tied up some loose ends with my Java's certifications. Many thanks Adrian for these courses, and looking forward to studying with you again in the future for the PCAP courses.

I passed my PCEP certification exam but I still lacked practice. These python exercises gave me some hand on so that I could not forget what I learned. Now I am looking forward to do my PCAP certification and I will need the same thing for the PCAP test certification practice. Thank you again for your help

Passed the test with this course and the associated Python PCEP course taught by the same instructor. Tests covered all the fundamentals presented in the course, even some ones that required a bit further rewatching and digging into the Q&A. Overall, a very solid course to learn and prepare for the PCEP exam.

By Ian Anderson on 5/24/2023

This was precisely what I needed to help me get ready. It had been a while since I worked with Python. And these practice tests helped me figure out where I needed to focus my energy.

By Lee Stevens on 11/16/2022

The questions are challenging, but by themselves, not enough to pass. Really recommend Adrian's PCEP course in addition to this or maybe he will be (cough) kind enough to bundle them in the future. Keep a VSCode window open while you do this, copy and paste the code snippets and really dig into why the code does what it does. This is not intended for a beginner, it's designed for those who already know Python and are ready to test. Rating 4 stars because I found some of the explanations lacking. It would have been 3 stars, but 4 because Adrian does jump on questions quickly. Overall a recommend, but Python Institute's practice stuff is a bit better imo - and quite entertaining.

This course proved to be an excellent preparation for the exam - I passed the PCEP exam at the first take with a score of 90 %! In particular, Adrian's explanations of the solutions are very helpful. The questions in Adrian's mock exame are a very accurate representation of the questions in the PCEP exam. I have the impression that the level of difficulty of the mock exames is higher than the difficulty of the official PCEP exam. In any case, you will not face an unpleasant surprise when you take the PCEP exam.

Having taken Adrian's PCEP course and his practice exam, I would say they are fully sufficient to pass the Cert attempt. I would even go as far as to say these practice exams were trickier than the actual exam, which isn't a bad thing.

Tests are very important to test our skills, and this set of 5 practice test showed my where I stand and there were a lot of new tricks introduced to me in this test. The learning part was still exciting me in the test. Thank you so much for giving such a wonderful test series to practice. It really helped me.
