Our take

Based on the ratings of 12,609 students and a sample of their written reviews, the syllabus, the course as of August 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

This is a short exam prep course aimed squarely at the PCEP-30-02 certificate. Adrian Wiech walks through Python basics in five modules that mirror the exam blocks, each ending in a quiz, and closes with a timed mock exam in the real format. The whole thing runs about 4.5 hours across 78 lectures, so it is a fast track, not a broad bootcamp. It suits beginners who want a concrete goal and a credential, and people coming back to Python after a gap. Students also get six months of PyCharm Professional through a JetBrains tie-in.

Reviewers like the bite-sized lessons and the easy to follow explanations, and one returning coder reports passing the PCEP on the first try after only this course. The rating sits at 4.6 from about 12,600 reviews, and one and two star reviews are around one percent. The gripes are consistent. The in-video coding tool shows only two lines at a time, and long dictionaries and lists flash by too fast to type along. One reviewer wants more coding practice, and another notes the practice test and final test are identical. One two-star reviewer felt the quizzes jump ahead of what the lessons explained, so true first-timers may need to pause and rewind.

Value depends on the goal. Compared with the Complete 2026 Python Bootcamp listed alongside it, this is a fraction of the length and skips projects, web work and anything past functions and exceptions. It was refreshed in August 2026, though one reviewer wants the tests brought closer to the current exam, and the PyCharm license adds real value for a paid course. If the certificate is the target, or a quick refresher is all that is needed, this is a sensible pick. Anyone who wants to build things should pair it with a longer course.

Best forBeginners or lapsed Python users who want the PCEP certificate fast and a structured syllabus rather than a sprawling bootcamp.
Skip it ifYou want projects, web frameworks or anything beyond Python basics, or you have no interest in sitting the PCEP exam.

Pros

  • Five modules map directly onto the PCEP-30-02 exam blocks, each closing with a quiz
  • Mock exam mirrors the real format, passing grade and time limit; one reviewer reports a first-try pass
  • Short, chunked lessons that reviewers call easy to understand and easy to rewatch
  • Six months of PyCharm Professional included via JetBrains, plus a content refresh in August 2026

Cons

  • In-video coding widget shows only two lines at a time and scrolls badly, reviewers say
  • Long lists and dictionaries go by too fast to type along, with no copy-paste text provided
  • Practice test and final test are identical, and some quizzes jump ahead of the lessons for true first-timers
Fantastic course, helped me pick up from years of inactivity and pass PCEP quickly on the first try
Miguel Francisco Garcia, a student

Pitched at total beginners and mostly delivers, but one two-star reviewer found the quizzes jump ahead; smoothest with a little prior exposure.

Adrian Wiech

Hi!

My name’s Adrian and I’m an engineering manager and a former senior software developer. I specialise in back-end languages such as Java and Python. My programmer portfolio also includes lots of database technologies: both SQL and NoSQL databases. I hold a Master’s Degree in Computer Science.

I have over 10 years of experience teaching people IT online. What makes my courses special is their practical background – I’m an active developer, not an IT theorist, so I know the best practices. I also know what programming skills are in demand.

My courses are:

- based on practice so that you don’t learn useless theory,

- straight to the point to save your time,

- easily digestible because I want you to understand it all without problems.

Had to see the lecture of all the videos to watch for Python as an instructor so It is better for me to do all the sorts of all things that I have completed the mock test yesterday, so now I came to move further for the quiz test that gave a lot of test to prepare for the answers that I can explain and give the correct output without any error. that is the way to do the python after so many years before I did everything well at once. It is my concern to give and do what is necessary to prepare every time that I am doing well on this course to follow every 5 modules that I have revised, so now I am revising again. Thanking you Yours sincerely Sonasman

I liked the method of teaching to make it easy to understand in little pieces of chunks. That makes it more mentally digestible to process moving forward more motivated. I have seen courses where they provide too much info and examples where it is difficult to process. So, to the teacher, keep the momentum of developing course improving! Cheers!

I started from zero, and thanks to this course, I was able to pass the PCEP certification exam smoothly. It was excellent! Thank you, Adrian. I will continue studying and move on to the PCAP-level course.

By Angelo Wilson on 6/2/2026

Very clear and succinct method of instructions, very concise and to point, and at a pace that most people can handle, and all the objective for the course and the exam are covered. Its a winning combination. I haven't taken the exam yet, but I am confident that I can get it done with a decent score on the first attempt. Thanks!

Good. Some concepts like sequence data types was explained in detail. The course too gave good details on Functions and Exceptions - few other UDEMY course miss this important detail.

By Lynsea Long on 4/14/2026

Adrian does such a great job with the videos! They are super helpful and easy to follow. It has also been very helpful that we have the option to message him with questions. Udemy and Adrian rock!!

By Zoe Loves Code on 3/28/2026

Wish that it was a bit more organized, for example all data types should be introduced in the beginning of the course and in one module. not across multiple modules throughout the course. Other than that, its a great course to start learning python.

By Dmitrii Dubrovskii on 3/16/2026

The lessons were good and easy to understand - I passed the real exam, Thanks! However, I didn't encounter a single question from the mocks during the actual test, neither from this course, nor from the separate one with the five mock exams.

best for beginner to coding and programming. need to code along with instructor and recall for this to be effective. (I am not new to coding) I would follow it up with the Edube python free online course before i give the certification

By Sajad Ali on 2/27/2026

This is an excellent course for preparing for the PCEP exam. The content is clear, well-structured, and highly relevant to the certification objectives. I look forward to more such high-quality courses to support further Python certifications.
