Course Description
Check out this review from a student who has a show on iTunes now:
(edited to announce I am on iTunes! Thank you, Ian!) Ian has created a Masterpiece of a course! I have an undergraduate and a Master's degree, and I would have to say this class ranks right up there as one of the best, perhaps the very best class I have ever taken, anywhere. This is a great teacher, folks. Ian has broken down the very technical content of creating a podcast into understandable, manageable lessons that I believe anyone can follow if they put in the time. He even manages to make the technical lessons fun and interesting. The system Ian teaches for post-interview audio engineering is simple yet brilliant, and I would never have figured out these methods without this course. Ian is one of the most responsive, helpful available teachers I have ever encountered. I know he has my back and would do anything to help. I was waiting to write this review until I actually had my podcast up and running, so that I could encourage future students from the position of someone who had made it to iTunes. I am not there yet, but I just realized that reviews on Udemy can be edited, and I will add that part in later. So I am writing this review now because Ian so highly deserves it, and because I want potential students to know that they will highly benefit from enrolling in this course. Ian, thank you for all your help so far!" - Meredith Here (Host of Local Hearted: Asheville Artists | WNC Artists | Art Business on iTunes)

"When I first started this course, I had doubts that I could actually produce a quality podcast on my own. However, after only a few lessons, Ian helped me realize that those fears were only in my head. By following his instructions in the course, I was able to easily setup, record, edit and publish my very own podcast that is now published on iTunes! I can't recommend this course enough. The way that Ian has put together the learning material makes it extremely simple to learn......and he keeps it fun! Podcasting has helped transform my business by allowing me to access the influencers in my industry. And, by doing so, I am building my own positive reputation along the way. Thank you Ian.....you are the man!!!" Trevor Turnbull host of The WordPress Authorities Show

Ian is engaging and entertaining as well as very informative. The class is excellent, I will end up watching... and working through it, several times until I have the system down pat. I do need to pick up some more equipment and that will take a little bit of time to gather, until then I will see how polished up I can get the stuff I recorded earlier with my Rode's mic (it truly sounds terrible, one of the major reasons I started looking for what I didn't know.) Ian dose a great job of informing you on the exact process, tools and websites you need as well as going over the use and setting up of each one. It was a great class, I enjoyed it!!

Most of the advice and breakthroughs are good, although somewhat mac-eccentric. Start-to-finish walk-through. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is he gives some questionable advice and examples about ripping samples from YouTube (copyright infringement), the defaults to "well.. check with your lawyer" in the Q&A section. Other than that, a solid podcasting course.

Audio quality is not always great and the course feels a bit quick - slow - quick. Hard to take consistent notes as I do on the first viewing. Allover I still liked it as it addressed all the major problems I had with podcasting and even solved some problems I did not know I had. The instructor is likeable and clearly knows his stuff. That's a good buy - worth its money.

Too much unnecessary things (file organization) and not enough technical issues, sound post-production, hardware discussion.
By Levi carruth on 7/17/2017
This course mainly covers how to do this on apple products. The only real windows friendly part of this course was the audacity program. Since a good portion of us don't have resources to run out and buy a mac book pro i feel the course should be expanded to be more easily transfered to either platform.

Ian did an excellent job taking a tech proficient podcast beginner and showing me how to record, edit and submit my podcast. In fact it took iTunes under an hour to accept my podcast! I was thrilled. The process is tedious, but Ian makes it sooo simple. I had my podcast submitted and up in under a week after purchasing the course. The one thing I will say to Ian about the blubrry plugin is that if you update the video it might be valuable to mention to people that the default channel will automatically upload any audio media you already had on your site. (It took me awhile to figure out that I had to create a new channel and submit that feed instead of the default feed) This course was so helpful. The price point insanely reasonable. Any beginner can us this create a podcast. Thanks Ian

Ian Robinson cuts through all the fluff and gives you clear actionable steps to start your podcast show and consistently produce your episodes. This course is intended for action takers that want a simple yet consistent system to have their show up in the fastest way. If you want to know about the whole podcasting universe, then this is NOT for you. This course goes to the point, discusses the most important thing about producing episodes and don't wastes your time talking about infinite mic options or platforms. If you are a procrastinator, NOT for you. If you want to play business (instead of making business), NOT for you.

I was tasked with producing a podcast for a client with a crazy short deadline. I have never even opened Garage Band much less recorded anything. My first thought was to panic and turn the project down. But then I found Ian’s course and I was able to get up to speed, and although it was not easy to do with such a steep learning curve, the course gave me everything I needed to make it happen and feel confident. The course was well organized and Ian is a great instructor. I even came to love all the goofy video clips that are actually pretty funny. Plus I heard that Shantaram segment so many times I was compelled to get the book and read it myself! I know it is overwhelming out there with so many videos and content on how to podcast-- but I am so glad I found this one. Also the equipment recommendations are great. I’m very happy with the set up I purchased. Plus and this is a big point--Ian is very accessible answering my posted questions in less than 24 hours in some cases. I did not expect that level of service and it was greatly appreciated as I was on a deadline. Thank you Ian!!!

Awesome course! All of the software/apps you need are mentioned here, and you'll be told how to get them and use them. Audio editing is a breeze for me now! The real highlight of the course was when I saw my own podcast on iTunes. That's a moment I'd love to be able to frame and hang on a wall. FYI, some of the apps have been updated since this video, so some of the instructions won't work entirely like the video shows. With just a little amount of investigation (trial and error on your part) you'll be able to adapt. Great course to take you from Zero to Hero.

I knew nothing about podcasting when I started. Now I have my very own podcast in the works, all thanks to the great step-by-step instruction through the important software in the process. Ian is really great and he puts a unique spin by encouraging you to actively participate in the course rather than watch all the videos straight through without ever making the necessary steps to get started. If you follow his instruction, you will never lack encouragement and you can have a podcast up and running in no time. I would highly recommend this course! Thanks for the great course!
