This class offers a comprehensive approach to digital illustration, focusing on the essential building blocks of art: Line, Shape, Form, Space, Color, Texture, Value, Light, and Details. The class is structured into 10 comprehensive lessons, each designed to be approachable and beginner-friendly. Every lesson includes:

Everything has been explained on an easy level. The timing has been perfect. I loose focus really easily and I have found myself engaged the whole time. You just make it seem relatable and fun.

I am enjoying the class so far. Just did the first lesson. Explanation is thorough. Enthusiastic teacher is nice. This is more of a refresher for me. Any artist benefits from other artists. Plus, Procreate is a newish medium for me and I really want get a good grasp of using it in place of traditional media. Now, for the next lesson. I am excited about this class. I also signed up for the Creating Character class. I want to try out Alexandra’s approach for new technique. More tools to have. Thanks for your generous teaching, Alexandra.

Very clear in what she is instructing, but some fundamentals, I need to learn in another class, like how to add sets of brushes to my procreate... She is an excellent teacher!

By Nadine C on 11/25/2025

I liked the pacing and that the lessons are broken up into “do-able” chunks of time. I did mostly copy the example project, but it was nice that there was some freedom to be creative while applying the concepts learned.

This was a wonderful class to introduce me not only to the concepts of drawing but to get started with Procreate. Now that I’ve finished my cat, I’m eager to take what I’ve learned and try again. I admit that I struggled with my layers and drawing on the proper layer. Time to practice.

I learned a great deal from this course that will improve my future Procreate projects. The instructor, in my opinion, is excellent and her 'coffee break' discussions contained such insightful wisdom.

By Judith Szabo on 3/31/2025

She’s very concise in her explanations, but she does it in a way that is easy for everyone to understand. She also creates a fun, stress-free approach to learning. I’m looking forward to the rest of this course and to doing several others.

I'm loving the course, it's very engaging, very fun and it allows me to be creative and come up with new ideas :D. And I'm also loving the coffee breaks XD
