Reverse Engineering 1: x64dbg Debugger for Beginners (Udemy.com)

I am a complete beginner when it comes to reverse engineering, coming to it as a hobby learner. Paul Chin has become my favorite instructor on the subject. I am also taking his Assembly Language for Beginners. I found this course and the other course very helpful as first steps. I can tell there is still a lot more I need to know on the subject, but I like how these courses are slower paced with good examples.

This is a nice beginner course. not more than that. if you already took other courses and know your way around it might be a good idea to start in the next Paul Chin course. a lot of the material is repeated, and for a learner who is completely new to this field this is nice BUT for someone who knows its ways around it would require to skip a lot of parts.

Really enjoyed this course. The instructor clearly presents the concepts. I've no previous knowledge of reverse engineering but found the course very interesting - I have now purchased some of the other courses in the Reverse Engineering series and really looking forward to learning more !

The course is good for beginners. I was using ollydbg and softice about 20-25 years ago during Windows 98 (I don't know if Softice or its clone still exists). I saw this course while browsing. I purchased this and all the other courses of the tutor. While watching the course, I was able to rent a few level 1 cracks. ( I do still know assembler). I deducted one star for a few reasons. I sometimes found the instructor's accent odd. The second reason is that you spend 2 hours on a subject that you can learn in 15 minutes by explaining it at great length. With this logic, the entire 18-hour training could be completed in 3-4 hours.

Nice pace for beginners. I found it useful to learn x64dbg tool but I was more comfortable already with assembly, what is a NOP, how the memory works and command execution order, so at times it felt really slow-paced. Regardless, the purpose I had, to learn a bit more about the tool, was accomplished.

Best course I have taken so far in debugging... Well explained. You need to have little assembly knowledge though as the assembly part is just a refresher as the author said. But overall, this was a great course and I got some more from him as I am taking a Malware Analysis class and this course is just right on point. I recommend all Paul classes to anyone who wants a solid foundation and a step-by-step, well-explained tutorial. Thank you again, Paul ...

I wanted to learn GDB for linux and accidentally signed up for this class. But still decided to give it shot, so that i can understand GDB using windows. The course content though basic, it is well done and give you enough confidence to take it to the next level.

Really good content, but I had previously purchased this instructor's full "Software Ethical Hacking - How to Crack Software Legally" course before he took it off of Udemy. This course is simply the first 10 sections of the full course, now available only on his website. Unfortunately, Udemy would not let me request a refund, based on how much of the course I had watched, but that is a platform issue and I do not hold that against the instructor. TLDR: You can skip this one if you have the full course.

So far it's bringing back memories from my old days of cracking.
