Course Description
Question: Did you know that HALF of all workers did not negotiate their last salary?
Here's why: The thought of negotiation makes them nervous, they don't know how to find their worth, they're afraid of losing the offer, and they simply don't know what to say. Unfortunately, they're leaving thousands, even millions on the table.
How would you like to have an extra $5,000?
I surveyed former students and the average raise was more than $5,000. 1 in 5 increased their salary by $10,000 or more! Money that could be used for a vacation, a new home, or to pay off student loans or credit cards.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Know how to negotiate a higher salary
Accurately research your maximum worth on the market
Navigate the early stages of an interview, avoiding online forms and low-ball screening questions from HR
Use a 5-minute body language trick to increase your rate of success
Implement the same negotiation techniques used by the FBI
Confidently say exactly the right phrases to secure the highest salary and get paid what you deserve
What truly sets apart this course are the added modules you won't find anywhere else.
9 detailed case studies and interviews
One woman negotiated a $63,000 increase
A museum manager increased her pay $11,000 with a single email

Student Reviews and Testimonials:
“Let me get right to the point for people who don't like to read reviews. Words can't express how good this course is. I feel like somebody let me into a secret society of how to make more money. I've always wanted to know someone in HR who could keep it real and this course is that resource. I started the course and only knew two techniques for my up coming job interview and I got them to raise their offer by $10,000.” - Kenneth Wilkerson
“This the most engaging course I have ever taken on Udemy.” - Mirmohammadyousef Motamedhashemi
“I have changed jobs 5 times in 7 years and have successfully negotiated a competitive salary every time. Applying these tactics to salary negotiation seems daunting but Jim breaks down the process really well and provides solid examples for each of the tactics outlined. GREAT for professional women especially.”
“Professionally produced and engagingly delivered. Recommended.” - John & Jodi Meredith
“I wanted to reach out to you so you can know how your class is affecting people’s lives. I was working for a company for one year and today was my review. I was initially hired as a web designer and developer at $50,000 and throughout the year I took on more responsibilities. To make the story short, I did a presentation this morning via Keynote, using a lot of the techniques you recommended, rehearsing it with my wife (she had GREAT input on the presentation), and requested a raise within the $75k-90k range due to my research of positions with similar responsibilities. I invested the whole weekend into it. Result: I just hung up the phone with my boss and they raised my salary to $78,000 and will give me another review in 6 months instead of 12! Thank you so much for your help!” - SH

I like the content, but it’s a little bit outdated with the references to Twitter.

It feels a bit outdated when talking about benefits and such, but otherwise great info, looking forward to trying it.

It's a well-designed course. No one negotiation will require every module in this course, but it is easy to navigate to what you want. Jim is likable and direct, and it is clear that he knows what he is talking about. There are definitely some "secrets" that could be shared in a blog post, for example, but the additional context he provides around those secrets is critical to making them actionable. I would absolutely recommend this to friends seeking a new job. One important note: this is good to buy early in a job search. The first 3 units of this course are all about what happens before the negotiation starts, and are valuable for a job seeker!

Solid, actionable techniques for a range of jobs, experience levels, and career fields delivered with enthusiasm and good reinforcement. Does a great job of describing the challenge -- how to increase your compensation -- and why it is important. Excellent course. Small points that do not detract from overall value: 1. Audio levels for the voiceover sections are a little off compared with the "to camera" delivery. 2. To underline the flexibility of these techniques, I would slightly differentiate techniques for hourly wage, salary, and commission-only positions. Highly recommended.

Thanks to Jim and Udemy for a great course! By nature, I am a tentative and conservative person who was never taught to ask for things. I can't tell you how many times I have sold myself short and have regretted having done so. I haven't tried these techniques in an actual recruitment scenario but I have tried them recently with my work performance review with good results. Thanking you, Zane Merton

Great ! It covers all aspects of salary negotiation in a logical and very practical way with lot of useful recommendations. (however the final part - Special cases and case studies are sometimes too fast to follow). The training exceeded my expectations. Jana

How to Negotiate a New Job is full of actionable tips. From start to finish, you can gain a lot of useful strategies and leverage when you're in front of your new employer. Other courses will say, "Do the research." Jim, the instructor, actually gives you a step-by-step process to figuring that out. There's also funny bits and even roleplaying. Highly recommended training.

Although I'm not in a salary negotiation currently, I took the course to learn more about the topic and negotiation strategies in general. I found the course to be very well organized, clear, and insightful with excellent advice and resources including PDFs and helpful links.
