I currently doing some of these tactics currently; I make sure that I learn as much as possible within the company and then take it to the next level. I am currently with a company that allows me to create training documentation and update existing material for new and existing employees. This allows me to create more bullet points on my resume.

Great course if you're looking for some quick bullet points on the preparation aspect of salary negotiation. Not much useful information on the the actual negotiation part (compared to other negotiation courses). Also, Minimal details on psychological biases and how to leverage them to your advantage (compared to other negotiation courses) Not much based in science, either. Still, I still enjoyed the course! Like I said, Jim Hopkinson has a great set up here for letting you know what to prepare for, and what to gather before your negotiation, but in my opinion you'll need at least 1 more course to go over actual in depth negotiation strategies.

Excellent information and breakdowns of negotiation methods and steps to market value research. Offers multiple scenarios so you can decide what works best for your situation, and revisits these scenarios with the case studies at the end. In addition, the downloadable documents provided are incredibly valuable for research and presentation.

This course recieves a 5 star based on the content that was relevant for my own personal development, i feel like i have made a lot of mistakes earlier when speaking about salary, that i wouldn't even call it negotiating, but now i feel more confident about how to present myself as a product for the company. Great course !

Excellent class! This course teaches you how to negotiate for a raise or promotion effectively in a business setting. Jim teaches the basic skills you need to negotiate effectively and how to set yourself up for a successful, desired outcome. I learned so much, thank you Jim!

Jim’s course is great. This is just what I needed to start the New Year off right. The digital downloads are excellent and make it easy to apply the action steps he outlines in the course. I also found the list of resources he provides to determine how much you’re worth extremely valuable. It’s so hard to put a number on all you’re experience, but the resources he gives you make it easy. I would recommend this course to anybody who wants to get a raise or is looking for a new job.

Once you've heard it all laid out, it sounds like common sense, but it's great to have somebody spell it out for you in simple steps with strong examples and added materials to help you prepare. I came away from this with a lot of ideas, and a renewed confidence, great course Jim!

The role played situations made me laugh! Great advice, and the worksheets look like they will be useful. I am not an employee, but will try to keep these principles in mind when negotiating with clients! I also plan to put together a portfolio following your outline. Thanks! :)

The content around negotiating a raise is very thorough, detailed, and quite good. I was disappointed, however, that the subject of negotiating salary and perks for a new job, wasn't covered in as much detail. A few examples are given in the bonus material, but the actual dialogue of negotiation would be helpful to people who are negotiating with a new employer--especially if they are unemployed. People who are unemployed have very low confidence levels and believe they have no leverage. They're afraid of asking for more than they're initially offered, and they're often offered less than they were previously making. What does one say, for example, when the employer brings up salary very early in the conversation? How does one defer the topic? As an executive recruiter and job search coach, I would have to disagree with one suggestion--getting a job offer from another employer in order to use it as a bargaining chip with your current employer. This can be detrimental to your relationship with your present employer, your prospective employer, and anyone who assisted you in getting the offer (such as a recruiter or industry contact).

In face of numerous and dazzling courses on Udemy, choosing the right one can be just as challenging as the skill we are trying to master. Being recommended by a friend for Jim’s class, I decided to give a try, and prepared to hear some common sense knowledge as the topic of salary negotiation is broad and intangible. Surprisingly, Jim surpassed my expectation and presented his strategy in a practical and professional format. Moreover, as someone from Asia, I would say it is especially beneficial to understand the cultural differences in the job market and form the right mindset!
