Course Description

This beginner-level course offers an immersive journey into the world of Agile methodologies, focusing on two most popular Agile frameworks: Scrum and SAFe (the Scaled Agile Framework). Here's what you'll learn:

Understanding Agile Principles The course begins by introducing the fundamentals of project management and Agile methodologies. After all, one can't fully understand Agile without understanding the product/project landscape from which it emerged.

Participants will explore the core values and principles underpinning Scrum and SAFe, such as iterative development, customer collaboration, and responding to change. Through engaging lessons and real-world examples, beginners will understand how Agile thinking differs from traditional project management approaches.

By delving into the Agile Manifesto and its twelve principles, students will gain insights into why Agile methodologies have gained widespread adoption across industries.

Getting Fluent with the Language of Scrum The course then transitions to a deep dive into the Scrum framework. Participants will learn the roles, ceremonies, and artifacts of the Scrum process. From understanding the responsibilities of the Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Development Team to comprehending the purpose of Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, learners will clearly understand how Scrum promotes collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. Practical exercises and case studies will allow students to apply Scrum concepts hands-on, solidifying their understanding of how to deliver value in a dynamic and flexible manner.

Navigating the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Building on the foundation of Scrum, the course then introduces participants to SAFe, a framework designed for larger enterprises and complex projects. Beginners will explore the four levels of SAFe: Team, Program, Large Solution, and Portfolio, understanding how each level aligns to deliver value seamlessly across the organization. Students will learn about essential components such as the SAFe House of Lean, Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and Lean-Agile leadership practices. By grasping the principles of SAFe's synchronization, collaboration, and continuous delivery, participants will be well-equipped to apply this framework in enterprises aiming for Agile at scale.

By combining theoretical knowledge with the "boots-on-the-ground" experience of the instructors, course participants will gain the skills needed to embrace Agile values, navigate Scrum practices, and comprehend the intricacies of SAFe's scaled approach.

Whether pursuing a career in project management, software development, or any job that favors a familiarity with Agile, this course lays a solid foundation for beginners to thrive in today's rapidly-evolving business landscape.

As someone looking to move into a Product Managment role in a SAFe business this has been very informative so far in highlighting the key differences and the shift in thought process moving to a more agile way of working.

By Norton Abdubek on 12/18/2025

The concepts are explained in a simple, practical way, with helpful real-world examples that make Agile frameworks easy to understand. The progression of topics builds confidence and clarity throughout the course. Overall, it is a valuable starting point for anyone new to Scrum and SAFe.

Yes it was a good match. I have been curious about agile methodologies for some time and understanding the terminology is a very useful first step. The course has also helped me conceptualize how these practices might be concretely incorporated into my work.

By Anthony Suarez on 3/17/2025

The course content was well delivered and topics presented was enough information to dive deeper if you choose to on your own. Since the course is supposed to be a primer for Scrum and SAFe, I definitely see it as a great refresher for those already familiar with the concepts or newcomers who want to get caught up. I appreciated the analogies and metaphors used throughout the course since some of the information can lean into confusing jargon territory. Overall, fantastic course!

I recently completed the Introduction to Agile and SAFe course, and it was an incredibly valuable experience. As someone who had frequently heard Agile-related terms but never fully understood their meaning, this course provided much-needed clarity. The content was well-structured, making complex concepts like Agile principles and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) approachable and easy to grasp. The practical examples and clear explanations helped bridge the gap between theory and application, leaving me feeling confident about implementing these methodologies in a real-world setting. I highly recommend this course to anyone new to Agile or those who want to deepen their understanding of SAFe. It's a fantastic resource for both beginners and professionals looking to enhance their skills.

It was a good match for me. Some of the theory was known to me as I have the PSM I certificate. The SAFe part was pretty interesting. I would recommend giving more real-life examples during the course, this would certainly make certain topics more understandable. And don’t read the slides aloud, but tell your own story incorporating the bullet points from the slide. This makes the course more engaging.

Even taking into consideration that it's beginner course, I still find it hard to grasp the idea of SAFe, how it differs from scrum of scrums (apart from scale). Maybe a short case study about SAFe implementation would help.

I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of both the content and the presentation. This course is a standout offering for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of Agile principles and SAFe frameworks. The curriculum was well-structured and rich with valuable insights. It covered all the key aspects of SAFe, including Lean-Agile principles, Agile Release Train (ART), PI Planning, and how to scale Agile practices at an enterprise level. Each module was comprehensive, with just the right mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. The content was up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices, which is critical in the ever-evolving landscape of Agile methodologies. This SAFe Agile course is an excellent investment for professionals seeking to implement Agile practices in their organizations. The combination of superb content and a dynamic presenter made this a memorable educational experience. I feel better equipped to drive Agile transformations and leverage the SAFe framework more effectively within my team and organization. For anyone looking to certify or simply gain a deeper understanding of Agile and SAFe, I highly recommend this course. The insights and skills gained are invaluable and will undoubtedly contribute to your professional growth in the Agile community.

In general the course is very informative for beginners, it gives an overview of the SAFe and SCRUM concepts, I just noticed that sometimes the explanations were really fast, because I write notes during the explanations, I would suggest if the presenter could make some stops to write notes and compare concepts. But in general is a good course, it helped me to understand the complete and basic structure.

By Markus Krauße on 12/9/2023

A lot about Agile, Scrum and Kanban. Explanation for SAFe has space for improvement. A lot talk about the Principles, Mindsets and Values in SAFe. Could be a better overview about the framework, like how the Release Train works, the roles (i.e. RTE, Product Manager, System Architect) and the syncronisation.
