This is a great high-level class on the songwriting flow. There is a lot of great advice on things you can do to improve your workflow and make your songs turn out better. I highly recommend the class.

Lots of reinforcement of concepts I've encountered through the years, well-packaged to bring them forward in my consiousness. The tips on using Ableton features for sound palette organization are super helpful.

Excellent overview of each part in the song making process. I feel more equipped and confident in navigating song making moving forward and am now curious about specific parts that were gone over in some detail that now I want to deep dive on. Thanks Jason! :)

This course is so good about explaining how to set up a template of sounds to use before you start, saves so much time and confusion...the idea of sketching out a tune was new to me, and it really helps in the creativity of musical ideas. I think coming up with riffs is fairly easy, but what to do with them is not and Jay explains what to do with them very well. Working through a song just with the DAW is the way to go, as you have a lot of organizational abilities to use. Keeping things organize was another learning tool that I was able to pick up from Jay...There's a lot I got from this course and I love the thoughtful approach in Jay's style of teaching...

He makes the process pretty simple. I like the fact that he illustrates A modern DAW & how common sense techniques, not tons of expensive plugins, are all that you need to get something ready for mastering.

Songwriting in a nutshell - I had some previous background. While this book is a general overview, it has methdological detail which are precious - It unlocked my capacity to begin composing as I was stuck and overwhelmed by all previous informations. Thanks to Dr Allen

It is a great class to really get the proces of creating a music piece from scratch. I learned a lot. Jason is a great teacher. In a quiet and relaxed way he takes you through all the steps. It is great that he shows you the mistakes, the happy accidents, the search and the solutions! It gives you insight how to work from sketch to print and how to listen and be critical. So thank you Jason :)

Interesting to follow along and see how Dr. J puts together a track from beginning to end. As you'd expect, it doesn't go into much detail into any of the steps but it does give you an overview of his process and the very basics of composition, production and mixing.

I took this course because I wanted to see how someone else typically works in an end to end ish fashion. It was good to see I already adopt many of the principles, but I got some new tips n tricks to.
By Petros Agoston on 10/26/2020
It was adept and useful. I'm an Ableton User so it's a PLUS that I can watch Jason's process on this platform. There is a Chapter where the Effect bus (right bottom) is being covered by the video frame - would be great to make a short edit on this part, by putting a frame (screenshot) onto the left bottom corner with the correct GUI settings.
