I want to express my deep dissatisfaction with the instructor's conduct during this course. Regrettably, there were moments where the instructor displayed racial tones and perpetuated stereotypes, creating an uncomfortable and unwelcoming learning environment. Such behavior is entirely inappropriate and stands in direct opposition to the principles of respect and inclusivity that should define an educational setting. At the beginning of the course, while discussing noise, the instructor addressed the topic of neighboring noises. However, when referring to an African American young child in a photo, his tone revealed clear disdain as he said, “and him.” This comment, coupled with the choice of the image used, strongly implied racial bias. If proper research had been conducted, it would have shown that multiple music genres—including heavy metal, hip-hop, pop, and country music—have faced scrutiny for promoting violence and negativity. It was unnecessary for the instructor to single out this particular image or use that tone to illustrate his point. Such actions were both disrespectful and uncalled for.

looks dated, need to refresh with the current trends

I have completed all three courses by Professor Julian Treasure and love each one of them. He is very informative, uses appropriate/understanding language, tone, and gestures. I learned a lot personally and professionally. I wish he taught more courses on Udemy. Thank you Professor Treasure. Best wishes.
