What is covered in this course?
The analysis of data is not the main crux of analytics. It is the interpretation that helps provide insights after the application of analytical techniques that makes analytics such an important discipline. We have used the most popular analytics software tool which is MS Excel. This will aid the students who have no prior coding background to learn and implement Statistics and Analytics concepts to actually solve real-world problems of Business Analysis.
Let me give you a brief overview of the course
Part 1 - Excel for data analytics
In the first section, i.e. Excel for data analytics, we will learn how to use excel for data-related operations such as calculating, transforming, matching, filtering, sorting, and aggregating data.
We will also cover how to use different types of charts to visualize the data and discover hidden data patterns.
Part 2 - Statistics foundations for business analysts
Then, in the second section, i.e. Statistics foundations for business analysts, we will start learning about the core concepts of Business Analytics i.e. probability and probability distribution. We will look at important probability distributions used in a business setting such as Normal distribution, Poisson distribution, Exponential distribution, Binomial distribution etc
These concepts form the foundation of data analytics, machine learning, and deep learning.
Part 3 - Statistical Decision making
Once we have covered the basics of probability, in the 3rd section, i.e. Statistical Decision making we will discuss some advanced concepts related to sample testing i.e. hypothesis testing.
These are the concepts that differentiate a beginner from a pro!
Part 4 - Optimizing Business Models
In the fourth section, i.e. Optimizing Business Models we will learn how to solve common business problems with the help of excel's data analytics tools such as solver, goal seek, scenario manager, etc.
Part 5 - Preprocessing Data for ML models
In this section, you will learn what actions you need to take step by step to get the data and then prepare it for analysis, these steps are very important. We start with understanding the importance of business knowledge then we will see how to do data exploration. We learn how to do uni-variate analysis and bivariate analysis then we cover topics like outlier treatment, missing value imputation, variable transformation, and correlation.
Part 6 - Linear regression model for predicting metrics
This section starts with simple linear regression and then covers multiple linear regression.

I really enjoyed this course! The instructor explain statistical concepts step by step and showed exactly how to use them in MS Excel. The real business examples were super useful. Above expectations because I can now do data analysis for work without feeling lost. Highly recommend!

Initially, it might feel a bit overwhelming, especially if you're new to either statistics or advanced Excel functions. However, as you progress, you start to see how powerful Excel can be as a tool for data analysis. The hands-on exercises, where you apply concepts like descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, or regression directly in spreadsheets, are incredibly valuable. I've learnt to interpret data, identify trends, and make more informed business decisions, all within an environment I am likely already familiar with. I feel much more confident in my ability to manipulate and analyze business data, create meaningful visualizations, and present my findings effectively. It's a great way to enhance my analytical toolkit and become more data-driven in your approach to business problems. This is a great course indeed.

This course contains good content, but is terrible in quality. For example, the business statistics pdf is missing many lessons that are present in the video lessons. Sometimes the exercises were already completed, making it impossible to practice what you had learned in the theoretical videos, the subtitles of the videos are terrible, making it sometimes difficult for non-native English speakers to understand what they are talking about. In short there is a lot to improve.

The delivery of content was excellent. It helped me go through some of the critical concepts of statistics and excel. But there should be more exercises or quizzes for practice by the student. That's why 0.5 star less ...

so far the information is very good and practical. when i will finish i willl have a better aspect of the course. the negatives - his english and his voice telling all this. also sometimes the quality of screem is very bad.

This is one of the best Udemy Courses that I have purchased. I bought it for the business analytics (which was excellent) but I really enjoyed the review of Excel. I honestly feel that the authors could break the course into two and the student would still receive cost effective courses. I have referred back to this course several times for a quick review while completing an MBA with a concentration in finance with great results (I graduated with a 4.0 GPA). These two authors and the 365 series , in my opinion, are the best for business review/primary courses. Although the author has a thick Indian accent, I found that using headphones mitigates the difficulty (my laptop speakers are not the best quality) and he was very understandable with the headphones.

content quality is good but content delivery is very bad. completing this course is such an boring process for me but still I have to do it. I hope you will improve it in future
By Alan MacPherson on 10/11/2021
Very good. Equations and how they are used manually gives an understanding of what is actually happening which is not necessarily the case when using the software,
