STRUMMING SIMPLIFIED: 51 Guitar Rhythms For All Styles! (Udemy.com)

A course that teaches you that certain things exist, nothing more. There is barely any proper instruction on technique or how to execute things correctly. It doesn't feel like learning from a real instructor who takes a careful, structured approach and helps you avoid developing bad habits. He holds your hand through simple things that don't need much explanation, but when it comes to the more complex techniques, he mostly rambles on about the strumming styles without actually focusing on the techniques themselves. This feels like watching a random Youtube video, except the Youtuber will display the chords on screen, which this guy couldn't even be bothered to do. On top of that, Udemy's refund policy is an absolute scam. I watched only about 20% of the program and was denied a refund. How am I supposed to evaluate the quality of a course with whatever their crazy threshold is? Glad I bought this on one of their "sales". I won't use this platform anymore.

This course in my opinion is how every beginner guitar course should start out. I've been looking for a course that just shows me different rhythms and how to play the chords. After just a couple weeks I'm already strumming multiple patterns easily and I sound good just playing rhythm guitar. Can I play lead yet? No, but I already feel confident enough to play in a band if I just play rhythm. I can learn lead, pentatonics blues and jazz scales and all the cage theory later. I just wanted to be able to play and this course got me playing right away. Now Steve doesn't go into full detail on how to play the chords but he does give you the tabs for them and shows you how they are supposed to sound along with a PDF and MP3's to play to. If he had shown how to play the chords in detail this would have been the perfect beginners course. I still give it 5 stars though because that wasn't his intention. His intention was to show you how to strum and at the end of the course he shows some finger style picking strums too so If you learn how to play the chords and apply what he teaches you, you'll be sounding like a seasoned guitarist in a very short time with just a few of the strumming patterns. Also the chord progressions he's using are found in hundreds if not thousands of songs so you'll be able to play all kinds of songs in just a couple of months. Best part is, he's not boring. I get excited to start my next lesson. Last guitar teacher I used here on Udemy was putting me to sleep rambling on & on about scales and theory. Oh my God, shut up and show me already. I don't care about the theory right now. I just want to play!!! Excellent course. Highly recommend!!!

I've been playing acoustic guitar for over a decade, but was starting to fall into a bit of a rut. I decided learning new rhythms would be a good way to pull me out of my funk and this course has helped so much. The first bit is definitely beginner level, but it really started getting fun when I hit the sixteenth note section. I highly recommend this course, it will help to flavor your music with new and tasty chops to keep you rocking.

I'm self-taught, playing guitar every day with no discipline for 18+ years, and this course filled in some gaps, especially in the Fundamentals section. I already had the ear and finger dexterity to play along with all the videos, but the explanations really helped me lock in to the groove and internalize my understanding of the rhythm. All these years, and nobody described strumming like hitting a drum stick - that insight carried me through the course and I feel leveled up even my lead playing. No more click track anxiety!

By far the best guitar rhythm course on Udemy. Steve is an amazing, straight to the point and friendly teacher. His knowledge is excellent and the lessons are systematically teaching you more and more complex rhythms. Production is spot on, as you have video overlays for everything he's doing. Plenty of practice material, unlike many other courses. No filler, just pure learning. Worth every minute and penny! 10/10

So far so good. Long time playing guitar but on & off. tried a lot of online guitar teaching platforms, though they have a lot to offer, my need is to simply improve my rhythm playing... i am half way the course and loving it. this is the best so far!!! thank you....

I am excited with this course, as it has far exceeded my expectations so far. I have bought several books with rhythm patterns and most of them are unusable, boring binary patterns like XOXOXOXO then XOOXXOOX then XOXXOXO etc. In this course the team presents 51 real rhythms that you like to play and have fun learning. These are REAL patterns that sound great!!! This was by far the most important thing in this course, but the "the rhythms" pdf was great, also. So you have the pdf printed in front of you, several mp3s that you can download, including drum beats to practice and fun rhythms to learn. Moreover, even if I've been playing for 5 years, I realized I didn't know a lot of the rhythms. The only problem is that when you learn all the material (which will take some time to master) you don't know what to do next. Maybe the team should consider doing other courses on specific genres, like 51 rhythms for funk guitar and 51 rock rhythms and 51 jazz/swing rhythms etc. I can't recommend it high enough, even if you are an intermediate guitar player like, you will find a lot to learn. If you are beginner, you absolutely should do it! It is gold!!!

Great. The only think I miss so far is the picking (bass string), strumming, picking (bass string), strumming rythm (if that makes any sense). But imaybe it belongs to a guitar picking course. I have played guitar my whole life, but always a bit sloppy without the correct techniques, but this course lifts my guitar play to a higher level only by polishing a bit.

This Course teaches us Different Rhythms & patterns of strumming the guitar from easy to advanced also the instructor provides us with Drum beats to practice with, which is really important when it comes to strumming, but the thing I like about this course is that the instructor responds Quickly to our Doubts & gives us tips about how we can improve our strumming The main thing about this Course is PRACTICE..... You must dedicate at least 30 minutes a day & practice the rhythms to become better at strumming.
