I have appreciated how to deal with negative energy-gaslighting. I now know how to avoid the biases I gained increased awareness about neurodiversity

It is answering a lot of questions for me (I recently discovered I am probably autistic, after my daughter's diagnosis). I really wish I could get the management team here to watch it, put they don't want to acknowledge autism as something I must deal with, because they don't want to give 'special treatment', and want to punish non-standard behaviour rather than understand it.

very informative - my daughter just got diagnosed with dyslexia so understanding how to better understand her makes it not only beneficial for our relationship but also to help me better connect with my coworkers and team globally. I love the part when they mentioned 'everyone is a genius in their own way'. I totally agree. At my old job, my coworker had Asperger's Syndrome. Although he was very quite and hardly talked, he was the best at creating invoices to bill to clients.

Learn more about this topic. Very insightful with sharing your own experience, potential real-world situations and interview with Sam. Thank you.

Very good for collegues and managers of neurodivergent people. I miss the part for neurodivergent people, how to handle a manager who doesn't accept your neurodivergence, or who doesn't want to adapt the work environment to fit you or help you find work that fits you.

I have taken other courses, however it was nice to be able to dive into the subject of neurodiversity. I appreciate the fact that ALL OF US, have ways that we learn, participate and make us productive, and the introspection into those aspects was informative.

This was not presented in a way that I found engaging at all. There is some good information provided but the way in which it is just does not work IMO. I'm sure a lot of time was put into it however it came off as though everything was just stated free form and not planned out. I really appreciate the inclusion of actual ND folks however the interviews also came off very disorganized and unplanned, the interviewees were great however the interviewer seemed quite haphazard. The interview videos certainly would have benefited from any amount of editing. There were also aspects of which I still do not understand the relevance to the topic (and it is seemingly not explained) such as gaslighting, some good information (again presented poorly) however what does it have to do with Neurodiversity? I would suggest watching for the information provided by ND participants however would select a different course to learn about this subject.

I had iffy feelings while listening to the first few videos of this course. Overall it sounded nice but had odd undertones to it. It is clearly made for both Leadership who are neurotypical as well as for the employees who are neurodivergent. They directly speak to both groups of individuals multiple times. My first big red flag was when (in Section 2, video 8 - Challenging Misconceptions) it was suggested that businesses advocate for their autistic employees through supporting Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks has done incredible harm to the autistic community and continues to do so. Please do research into the companies that you advocate for before suggesting it to all businesses. My next red flag was in the video immediately after (Section 2, video 9 - Ways to Support Neurodiv...). Not only did they advocate for ABA assimilation techniques (which are widely understood to be harmful) for autistic individuals, they also suggested giving dyslexic individuals videos to circumvent the need to read. Both of these suggestions show a misunderstanding (or general lack of understanding) of how these neurodiversities often manifest in the day to day world. There are multiple types of dyslexia, many of which cause auditory processing problems. Giving these individuals extra time to complete tasks and less pressure to complete the tasks in a neurotypical manner would likely help more, depending on how their brain functions.

I thought this was great. I really appreciated the laid back conversation between the two. It helped me get a perspective from someone dealing with the problems we're learning about.

Neurodiversity is such a new but important topic, and it's so important to support our Neurodiverse colleagues and co-workers. Especially since it's not always clear who is neurodiverse and who is neurotypical. Thank you for teaching this important topic.
