Also this course provides a technical walkthrough of the new developer-centric features introduced in SQL Server 2025. It is designed for developers and database professionals who want to move beyond traditional T-SQL and leverage modern capabilities like AI-driven vector search, native JSON handling, advanced regular expressions, and intelligent query optimization.
This is a practical, feature-focused course. We cut through the marketing to focus on syntax, implementation, and performance impact.
What You Will Learn The curriculum is organized into four core modules covering the following technical areas:
AI & Vector Search: Integration of semantic search capabilities using the native Vector datatype. We cover embeddings with OpenAI, distance functions for similarity searching, and efficient implementation using DiskANN.
Native JSON & Data Handling: Transitioning from legacy NVARCHAR parsing to SQL Server’s new high-performance native JSON datatype, including native indexing strategies and the JSON_OBJECTAGG function.
Regex, Text Analytics & Productivity: Implementation of native Regular Expressions (REGEXP_LIKE, REPLACE, SUBSTR, COUNT), practical usage of the || concatenation operator, Base64 encoding/decoding, and Fuzzy Matching algorithms (Edit Distance and Jaro-Winkler).
After learning these new features , you will have a clear, working knowledge of these specific SQL Server 2025 features and be prepared to implement them in your development and production environments.

Range of topics is good. Explanation and exampleas are ok. Couold be a little less repetition, but it may help with remembering the course. Pronaunciation is sometimes hard to understand and quality of language used could be better.

Everything looks great and is clear, except for the unaccuracy regarding the size of row offset which grows or shrinks depending on the number of rows stored on the page. See comment to this lecture in Q&A.

Excellent course. Author does know the subject very well and takes you to the required depth of all concepts. He made Indexes and Execution Plan concepts super easy to understand and apply to real world scenarios. A small request: avoid repetitions.

Absolute gem for advanced SQL Server—so many “aha!” moments. Pages/extents, heaps vs clustered/nonclustered, composite and included columns finally clicked. The execution plan deep dive was gold: scans vs seeks, key lookups, hash/merge joins, spools, parallelism, plus parameter sniffing vs PSP optimization—explained with clear demos using AdventureWorks. Practical tips on fragmentation, rebuild vs reorganize, fill factor, and those sneaky warnings saved me real-world time. Came out reading plans confidently and tuning smarter—highly recommend!

I am loving this lecture, I still need to complete last 1/3 of this course but till now, it is fantastic. Thanks for explaining the concepts from very basic and simple terms. I am seeing the magic behind SQL queries now.

this Cours really helped me to get a better understanding of optimisating queries , keep up the good work , recommendation add in practice exercises it would help with getting. practice.

The course is explained in a detailed way. It might be a bit boring for an experienced people because of that kind of detail. But for beginner and intermediate, it's worth traversing this course. Thanks the tutor, I appreciate your efforts

Some of the explanations, towards the end, lost me but that will be sorted by me re-visiting the course after more practical experience. Otherwise an excellent course. I have sent the link to the rest of my development team mates :)

The course was useful and contains valuable content. However, more examples on other execution plans and deeper explanation would be much helpful.
By Manan Choudhary on 6/12/2024
The course content is of good quality. But very bad Q&A support. The instructor doesn't solve the doubts properly. My some of the questions are still unanswered and some of the questions answered were just for name sake i felt. But the course material is very very effective, interesting, pratical and very easy to implement. Thankyou for that. Please just improve your interactivity with the students who takes the course and ask questions.
