Excellent course to get started with ARKit on my iPhone. Learned a lot about how to build AR Kit apps in XCode. The apps that Rayan teaches you to build are really fun and cover all the necessary aspects one might want to know including positioning, collision detection, planes and so on. The course was created around an older version of iOS so I had to mitigate the fact that some stuff has changed, but in some ways I feel that is a good opportunity to really validate your understanding of all the stuff you are learning.

Really thorough course that demonstrates all of the essentials you need to start with ARKit. I would recommend it as a great primer. However I strongly recommend basic knowledge of Swift first, as the explanations in this course are brief and directed towards Swift users. My two comments are: 1) After finishing a line of code, he immediately jumps somewhere else in the file which means a LOT of stopping and going back. I type as fast as he does, but one look away and it's gone! He just needs to pause for a second or two to give the viewer a chance to either finish typing or let the concept sink in. Xcode doesn't even register the code before he's off somewhere else, which takes away from the course. 2) He spends a lot of time building each app from scratch when creating a new 'Augmented Reality App' would have linked the outlets, set-up the camera, etc. Once is fine, but 10x is crazy.

Felt like course is covered very basic topics rather than going in depth and solving some real world challenging scenarios. Would be better if the scenes are designed in .scn than programatically (for ex: 7 different planes with door gap created for Portal than using the SCNCube and add different faces as materials, end up of spending time in calculations and angles) Applying texture images for 3d objects are good. But no explanation about what and all we can use as diffuse.contents (except color, image) In 9.5 hours the complete ARKit can not be covered. It would be better if the course is having 20-25 hours with more details explanations and examples.

I have received zero replies from Rayan ever since I purchased the course. As many similar courses have all had new updated parts for ARKit 2.0 this course has zero update. I hope the instructor can actually review the courses and put on some new contents and give some replies regarding questions

Rayan has an excellent way of teaching, he's very calm and try to explain all things in a good way, so everyone can learn. Though I liked the course, considering I was already a programmer, I prefer he could go more deeper in some details and syntax explanation, specially, I missed that sometimes. The course takes sometime in the beginning before starting to get right into AR, the Xcode software is kinda confuse at first look but the course flow and every single tip and exercise helps to get used to it. There were some exercises that are difficult even when we've already done it in a past exercise, because of that, Rayan repeat somethings a lot from the middle till the end. In general, is a very good course, I just didn't give completed 5 stars because of what I've mentioned and because of not explaining things like to create multiscreen apps, set splash screens and icons, making config settings, etc. Recommended anyway! Specially if you're going into AR / ARKit. ARKit is awesome! Coding in Swift has a middle-low learning curve. Thank you Rayan!

Met this guy through his preview in Youtube and after 1 hour it became clear that I would learn a whole lot from his course so decided to get it. Excellent basics starting from Xcode basics all the way to ARKit applications. I had never used Swift or Xcode for any type of Apple software development and this course helped me understand deeply the know-how of Apple development. Slowly paced and he repeats basic things that are needed for a good understanding of the concepts he shows. I can say without doubt that he knows what he is doing and knows how to transmit his knowledge. On the downside, I am not sure if it is only me, I fell asleep 2 or 3 times while watching the videos. I felt it was due to being tired but I also felt it may have something to do with the voice tone that is sometimes a bit horizontal. Overall, excellent and concise course that helps you build necessary skills for more complex applications using ARKit

This was a fantastic course for building up a skill set with ARKit in a logical, progressive way. While I value self-learning, and have a lifetime of great experience with it, a course such as this one where you build over 10 apps is truly special. Each new app adds additional layers and dimensions to your skills, while reinforcing lessons learned from the previous apps. Rayan's teaching style is easy and effective, and the example apps he builds leaves room to do what I did: hit the pause button and go explore what else can be done. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to explore ARKit.

Really useful course. Teaches you all you need to know to start making ARKit apps, and gives a good grounding in SceneKit too. Pace of the course is good, covering lots of ground, but in a way that isn't difficult to keep up with. Would definitely recommend to all who know Swift/iOS and want to make a start with this new and exciting technology. Would've been nice if we didn't have to start a new project from scratch each time, or if we'd been building a library of useful code snippets along the way that we could plug in to any future ARKit apps we make! Other than that, can't fault the course.

I have only watched the introduction and Xcode crash course sections. So far I'm very impressed. Although I have developed using Swift and Xcode before I think these are some of the clearest explanations of the topics I have seen. Very good so far and I now have high expectations for the rest of the course. I am now around 60% of my way through the course and I have found it to be extremely useful. I have some background in Swift and 3D so have found it relatively easy to follow. I would imagine that this would not be the case if you were coming into this without any knowledge. I would like to see some more diagrams and original content rather than just images from the web for the odd visual explanation. Very good overall though.

- Updated review after finishing the course - I enrolled to this course to quickly get back on track with contemporary iOS programming methods and see what ARKit has to offer in a categorized manner. I really liked the energy and the variety of concepts in this course. But I highly recommend other course takers to do some research on the subject and devise their own methods. Some of the information on the course is misleading in terms of coding conventions. I previously mentioned here the jpg / png conversion, and I know this is off-topic. But this and several other comments like "transformation matrix cells are trial and error; ARKit is not really well documented yet." really rose my eyebrows. These information are part the foundations of computer graphics. I really, really hate leaving such negative comments on courses, especially one that has been helpful to me and apparently to so many others, but I cannot in good conscience leave a comment without mentioning these. As I said I think this is a great course when it comes to a quick start, but please do make your own research and find your own methods.
