It's been an amazing journey with Kalob Taulien. I had started to earn before I had even completed this course. I learned accurately by implementing in real-world projects that are used by others, not just by watching tutorials and lessons. Implementing things that you have learned makes it more fun to learn in this bootcamp. I actually learned and built a production application that handles tasks for teams working together. It was developed in Django, which I learned before joining the course. Django, discussed in this bootcamp, took my understanding further by integrating Wagtail with Django. It took me years (around 5 years) to take this to completion because I was busy working on projects and clients. I was constantly learning and implementing on real projects. I would highly recommend this course as a Senior Software Engineer to anyone who wants to get into web development.

He teaches really well. Actually, English isn’t even my native language, but I can understand everything he says because he explains things so clearly. His lessons don’t even feel like lessons — it’s more like friendly banter between us. And don’t think that this funny, relaxed atmosphere means I don’t learn anything — that’s the thing: he still teaches extremely well. Each section includes a project that you have to build with him. When I started, I knew nothing about frontend, but now I’m in the JavaScript section and I can design beautiful, responsive websites. I’m really thankful for that. And I think that he is better than my teachers from high school.

I recently completed a full-stack web development course, and it was an incredible learning experience! The course covered a wide range of essential topics, including basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, React, Python, Django, and Wagtail. Each module was thoughtfully structured, making complex concepts accessible and easy to follow. What truly stood out for me was how engaging and insightful the lessons were. The content not only provided a solid foundation but also gave me practical skills that I can confidently apply in real-world projects. The hands-on exercises and projects really helped reinforce my learning and made the process enjoyable. A big shoutout to Kalob who was absolutely fantastic! Also shoutout to Radek for always answering my queries. They were both encouraging, and had a talent for breaking down difficult topics into simple, digestible explanations. Their passion for teaching and dedication to their students' success shone through in every lesson. Overall, I had so much fun throughout the course, and I’m leaving with valuable knowledge and a strong sense of accomplishment. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to kickstart or enhance their journey in web development!

IT WAS A VERY GOOD THING FOR ME TO COMPLETE THIS LESSON AND I REALLY ENJOYED IT. MY MAJOR CHALLENGE WAS SLOW NETWORK AND HIGH COST OF DATA IN MY AREA. SOMETIMES, I WILL BE READY TO LEARN BUT NETWORK WILL DISAPPOINT ME. SO I HAD TO RECORD WHENEVER I HAVE STEADY NETWORK SO THAT WHEN I AM READY TO LEARN I WONT BE DISAPPOINTED BY NETWORK. I WILL SUGGEST UDEMY TO INCLUDE OPTION FOR DOWNLOAD BECAUSE IT WILL REALLY HELP ALOT OF STUDENTS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES LIKE NIGERIA. ANOTHER POINT IS THAT WHEN I INITIALLY WANTED TO BUY THE COURSE, IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME TO BUY IT SINCE IT ACCEPTS PAYMENT IN DOLLAR, THERE ARE SOME LAWS IN NIGERIA THAT MAKES SUCH TRANSACTION DIFFICULT FOR AVERAGE PEOPLE SO I HAD TO CALL A FAMILY FRIEND IN UNITED STATES TO HELP ME WITH THE PAYMENT.

Great course, it works well as an introduction for both front and back end development, as a fullstack course, it will give you the best tools for you to start on your journey through web development. I've always wanted to be a web developer since I was a teenager. But never knew where to start, and how to progress. University gave me some of the tools, but I've felt stuck anyways. Taking this course was a great decision for me, as it boosted my confidence into finally doing something and feeling capable of being a solid web developer. Following all the different sections while creating your projects with the given tools will be your best options. And I want to thank all the instructors of the course, as they will explain things precisely and clearly, even for people that knows nothing about programming. They will provide great feedback and help to people that show their projects along the course. Totally a recommended course. Personally I would have liked a little bit more of an in-depth look at CMS like Wagtail though, as those are one of the easiest ways to create personal web-blogs or e-commerce sites, and Wagtail seems like a really enjoyable system for the job, specially because of Python usage.

It was amazing coming from a first-ish time coder. Videos are generally easy to understand. Most videos are up to date, considering I purchased this in 2020, and it has constantly been updated, which is a blessing. There are times where I do have to look up how to do code certain things, how to install programs or how to use current versions of languages that are outdated in the course, but that is all part of being a web developer. I do wish that Udemy's video format made it easier to see captions, or that there are moments that videos are slowed down so I can see what lines of code are being changed. The Udemy videos are difficult to navigate at times, and confusing to follow, but that mainly has to do with Udemy and how their videos are coded. Examples given in the course are funny, memorable, and mood lightening. Glad I did the course, hopefully I am able to find my first job as a full stack engineer soon! You're awesome Kalob!!!

I completed this course from start to finish. I already have knowledge in JavaScript and React, and took this course mainly for the python and Django portions. First of all, this course is at least three years out of date. It is NOT for 2023. If you check out the github, most of the repos haven't been updated in three years. This affects the React course as well as the Django course as the versions he is using are not supported. On the React course, the teacher has just added a disclaimer to use a previous version of React. Overall, I am pretty disappointed with this course. HTML course: it doesn't teach semantic HTML or how to correctly structure an HTML website. It barely touches upon accessibility, and why this is important. JavaScript course: For the most part, this is very surface level, and doesn't even cover basic things like array methods. There is a lot of basic information missing. Bootstrap course: I'm not even sure why this is on the course. It's basically 2 hours of watching someone reading documentation. jQuery course: While this was a useful refresher, it goes on for far too long, which is just rehashing the same thing. React course: This BARELY scratches the surface of React. You could learn more from just reading the React documentation. As for Django, instead of explaining how parts of it work, he just builds a project with barely explanation on how or why you're doing something. He will say it's "automagic", which is not an appropriate explanation. Also, he never explains how to deploy a Django project on Heroku. As for projects, there are at least three 'implement the same Star Wars API and create a random generator' projects. The amount of times the instructor says 'No one is going to hold your hand! So you need to learn to do this yourself!' is ridiculous. It just sounds like a way of getting out of providing solution code to me. Overall, this is a low value, poor quality course. You can find better stuff for free on YouTube.

This was a very comprehensive class for a self-paced full-stack course that could be completed in a reasonable few months. The core technologies in this course are a great start in two popular programming languages with very different philosophies. It gave enough info on some aspects not central to becoming an entry-level web developer to spur me on in pursuing those subjects as well (primarily security and permissions). If you are just beginning to learn web development and aren't sure what technologies to begin with, this is an excellent road map to a solid foundation of knowledge. Kalob gives enough info and explanation to get you oriented and moving, but strongly encourages furthering your own learning with outside sources, which, as I have learned, is a major ongoing component of professional web development. 10/10 would recommend! Thanks, Kalob! And thanks Radek for being an awesome and responsive teacher as well!

This course was great, you learn everything about Web Development that you need to start making top-tier websites immediately. There will be things that you need to learn on your own, but there is no course that can or will teach you everything. The only improvement that I can suggest to Kalob and his team is to introduce the subject and what you are going to do for like 15-30 seconds before diving straight in. It would help people like myself who are taking notes and trying to grasp everything if we had a little summary before we start. Overall great course and I would recommend it to anyone.

By Carlo Occhiena on 4/16/2021

Just finished the course today. First round, cuz it's so dense surely I'll have to take one or more round of it. What about that? The course is great, and Kalob is a super nice dude. A lot of topics being covered in more than 40 hrs (but it tooks like about x2 if you plan to do exercies and projects, or even more, if you want to do them well). I am not very sure it fit for absolute beginners, I mean, I wont go from zero to django dev but in any way Kalob explain everything from the ground up. All the libs and frameworks are up to date 2021 and believe me this is not so common in Udemy nowadays. Buying the course you'll also get access to a facebook private group and a discord server, where people literally run to help you when asking questions. That's terrific. A thing I would have improved? I feel the course is somehow "backend-ish" oriented. The part of web design in its core term is lacking, also missing the source files, you have often to pause the video to code along and then check if you did as Kal suggested. I found that part a bit annoying. I would have appreciated a focus on crafting beautiful websites and maybe at least a "state of the art" html+css+js source, just to have a solid starting point . But i mean, this course is huge and it has a lot of material and since you can have it for 12 usd, what the hell, just thank you kalob so far :D
