i have been learning about off grid solar system design and setup using my shed with upto 8 solar panels. I have been doing this for the last 3-4 years and im interested in some certifications, and starting documentation as i am hoping to steer this direction in my future. I am currently a HVAC/gas contractor, and solar fits into my interests very well. eventually i would like to be able to professionally take work in off grid solar design and setup. Udemy has been a good information source/ starting point for me in the past and its proving out good now as well.

I've been involved in domestic Solar PV for about 6 years and I have had to learn most of it by experiment and experience. I have a background in engineering and am a qualified domestic electrician I just wish this course was around when I was first looking into solar !!

More focus could have been placed on sizing the battery, the charge controller and the inverter. Some numbers for the total load seemed to be extracted from no where and there was a disconnect. Fortunately, the quiz helped in consolidating the information. I would recommend a downloadable excel spreadsheet be a part of this course which will aid in the calculations mentioned above. Also, the link to affordable solar off grid calculator seems to be discontinued. Otherwise decent course.
