Hi, I'm Quinton. I'm an avid outdoors photographer and explorer and have been taking pictures for years. I've worked professionally taking photos but my true passion lies in teaching what I love to others. In my younger days of photography I spent countless hours scouring the internet trying to learn the secrets of photography. I just wish there was one place where I could learn everything I needed to know and explain in terms I could understand. My goal is to give you exactly that, I want to help you knock down barriers and master the world of photography. I've shown some of my work below so you can be the judge if I can teach you. But you can also check out my Instagram where I have all my work.

Honestly i am really loving and enjoying this course.I am able to learn many new things which i didnt know earlier. This course proves to be perfect to pursue and improve my drawing skills. This course is best for beginners as it involves all the basics necessary to learn pencil colouring..

Excellent throughout, well explained techniques which were broken down well into small elements of hands on projects that made me feel like I was achieving something. I am really impressed with it and got excited for the next session. I even enjoyed the calm music playing throughout. Thank you for such an enjoyable experience.

It was just way different than advertised. The ultimate photorealism class should have some pretty technical aspects and at least some fresh ways to approach or see things and really I just watched Quinton draw for a few hours. I will say he is a good artist but I think this misses the mark

While this is a course for pencils, I'm finding I can follow along with digital media just fine using the pencil tools. I've already finished the first section and was surprised at how easy and effective the techniques were and the instructor made following along very easy. I appreciate how the course has made realistic drawing more accessible than ever, and as a cartoonist, it's helped me gain the confidence to attempt more realistic subject matter in the future. Highly recommended! edit: I just finished the course and feel like I learned a lot going through what seemed to have been a super-complicated image as the lips biting a diamond ring, but with the instructors clear guidance, I was able to create a surprisingly similar image myself! Overall. I'm really impressed with the class and my own output taking it. Thank you, Quinton!

A great course for learning essential layering and blending techniques as well as laying down shadows and highlights in your work. In my opinion, this course will not itself teach you photo-realism, but can get you some decent comic-book level quality instead. The instructor's own work on the lips for example, does not actually match the reference photograph. It's still valid art, but departs from photo-realism. The most annoying thing was trying to pause the video to decipher the names on the Prismacolor pencils because the instructor doesn't let you know what they are. Vague terms like 'this pink' or 'medium brown' are common. I'm not sure if this was a sneaky way to force students to recognize different shades of colors on their own or not, but either way it detracted from the experience. My only other criticism would be regarding those occasions where the verbal instruction does not match the video you are watching.

I was an artist using graphite pencil and acrylic. This year I started with color pencil and this course helped me tremendously to learn how to draw using colors instead of just black and white. Great course I really loved working through the exercises.

Thoroughly enjoyed this course, I've completed both of Quinton's courses now, and learned lots! He makes topics interesting, is very informative, and good at explaining the techniques. Looking forward to him doing more courses!

It was very helpful in understanding how to get different effects with simple techniques. The website provides a good space for people to offer their ideas and to encourage others as they proceed with the lessons. I would appreciate a little more feedback to help improve and expand on technique and progress.

The instructor moves at a reasonable pace while both showing and telling you what to do. He responds to questions and critiques your work. The sessions are broken down into manageable chunks that are doable and allow for rest between sessions or to proceed at will.

I loved the encouragement when things were really getting challenging. Both projects were fun and pushed my boundaries as an artist. The lips project was a bit problematic because of the close up (which I mostly appreciated) because some times the demonstration was out of camera range. All in all I was very pleased with the course. I would happily take another one if it becomes available. I already took the other one with the shark and butterfly. It was a perfect starter course.
