Ultimate Ableton Live 12, Part 1: Production Principles (Udemy.com)

Really good so far. Only criticism, hence 4 stars not 5, is the audio balance between the instructor's voice and the output from his Ableton. His voice is much lower in level so I crank up the volume to hear him only to have my ears blasted when he plays something that's much louder from his MAC. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does I have to adjust headphone level up and down which is irksome.

In a few words, Mr Anthony has a fluid and down to earth style of teaching. He doesn't waste time on non pivotal information and is straight forward. Additionally he gives great examples and feels more like he is just telling you something that is easy to remember and understand instead of "teaching" it.

This course was exactly what I needed to get up and running with Ableton Live 12. J. Anthony Allen explains everything clearly and provides practical examples that helped me build confidence in my workflow. Highly recommended for anyone starting with Ableton or needing a refresher! Thank you x

I have really enjoyed this course. Each section is broken down into extremely digestible steps which made it feel very easy and welcoming for me to go at the pace that I need in order to process information, practice, etc. I appreciated the introductory welcome message before starting the course, found the course itself fun and engaging, and enjoy J's sense of humour. Great course thank you. I've come from using Reaper and Cubase. The Live interface has always looked very busy and, well, scary to me! After completing this course I am confident to find my way around Live and do what I need to do. It's worth noting that the course does focus almost entirely on Arranger view rather than Session view, so I will need to do some more study on that if/when I need to use it; but that's not so much of a big step now.

After using FL Studio for over a decade, followed by a music production hiatus, I wanted to start over from scratch and this time take my hobby a bit more seriously, without losing the element of fun at the same time. So I gave Ableton Live 12 a go. Changing DAWs can be a daunting experience, especially when you have gotten used to another DAW for so many years. Thankfully, J's course took away a lot of those worries well its well-explained and practical walkthroughs. Excellent learning material, and I look forward to taking in more of J's courses, which has already shown clear signs of improving my own compositions.

I’m very impressed with how clearly Allen presented the material. Although the course mainly provides an overview of the Ableton 12 user interface, the explanations were thorough and easy to follow. Allen’s teaching style made it simple to grasp the basics, making it a great starting point for beginners or anyone looking to understand the software’s layout and key functions. I highly recommend this course to anyone new to Ableton Live or looking for a solid refresher!

Amazing course. Brilliant teaching. I always had the feeling 'you can do it too', knowing full well there is such a huge amount of knowledge beyond the stated. What I really enjoyed was the lack of over-excited 'wow, isn't this just fantastic' and getting down to the business and yet tickling you to experiment, to find out more and opening up this universe of possibilities. I knew nothing about Ableton before starting this course and now I feel like I have a solid foundation to continue from! I purchased the other 6 of these classes in the series and i'm excited to dive into the next one right away :D All around awesome teach and awesome course!

Wonderful for the absolute beginner. I am more intermediate coming from Live 11 with about 6-9 months experience with it already, but I am eager to continue my learning and experience with Ableton Live as well as Music production. Jason is a wonderful teacher and I really enjoy his courses.
