  • James Patrick: You've met James before in some of my other classes, but he is also a world-renowned producer and performer, and accomplished teacher (and Ableton Certified Trainer)

A good hands-on follow-up to the Sound Design course. Gives great insight on how things are made.

Very nice course. Works really good to see people make sounds on screen. The only thing I did'nt like were the small Ableton Windows. Please zoom in next time to make this much bigger. Can't see what's happening in these tiny windows on my large screen. 4,5 stars otherwise.

By Art Leiby on 10/9/2022

The instructor seems to be improvising everything and does not have a clear objective. He digresses frequently during his instruction and he needs to turn off his message alerts during the production of the videos, so far I am very disappointed with this course and I am not impressed. The guests videos are better although the production varies.

By Michael Murdoch on 11/21/2021

I am enjoying the class, it's basically what I expected. I thought there would be a few more recipes (didn't look @ the module list when buying so that's really my fault) but yeah, great course!

By Saffo Papantonopoulou on 10/24/2021

I love these classes. The recipe books and also the one you made with making beats. It's a cool concept for a class. It's not so much a typical class that walks you through from start to finish but rather a collection of tutorial videos from different sound designers. You definitely want to know the basics of sound design before taking this class.

By Samuel Sapalski on 3/30/2021

The instruction videos are OK, but far away from high quality/professional. The videos in between have a very annoying noise/crackling sound in the background => this is kinda unprofessional.

By Jesse barry on 1/18/2021

I learned so much from this course. Been producing for a couple years and just haven't been able to get these clean bass sounds. After spending around 5 or 6 hours going through these tutorials and applying the techniques I am now able to get much nicer bass sounds and there are also some really cool tricks in here as well. Thank you!!

By Ryan Barker on 7/4/2020

It is very useful for students to hear what sound designers are thinking and have some templates for their own experimentation. Thanks for putting this together.

By Jeffrey O Kasbohm on 6/1/2020

1) the screen resolution on several of these could really be better guys. Gets fatiguing -- but..... 2) I'm understanding sometimes partial explanations are making me really dig into the synth programs and really try and figure it out for myself. In the end I'll have lot more finesse and expertise in making unique synths. Takes a lot more time! but that end I believe (understanding synths and not just copying sounds) was your goal. Thanks Jason! :-)
