Another great introduction to sound design. Explores instrumentation for the melody. Sound levels feel a little less evened out this time, but overall another great class.

By Brad Moffat on 8/26/2024

Good. I really like Jason's content. My only complaint is the on quality of the video. 720p just isn't good enough. It needs to be 1080p so that the text on the displayed screens is legible.

By Alexander Hamilton on 3/31/2024

Very informative

By Frank Carey on 12/15/2023

Informative with several gems. Nice work.

By Jesse Tye on 10/26/2022

Good information regarding simple ways to turn small sound into something bigger. Already got another production trick up my sleeve

By Ronald Wagoner on 10/23/2022

As always, it is very helpful to see how the pros are shaping their sounds in order to get a feel about how to shape my own sounds. It sort of allows me to then go back to more basic sound design courses and to revisit the concepts from those.

By Asaf Dado on 4/24/2022

good but too short :)

By Geir Thorvaldsen Breimo on 5/5/2021

Many good tips but varying quality both in content and techical sound quality from the different contributors. One of them was impossible to hear because he was talking behind the music but I think he was just going on about you have to tweak some knobs and make it your own you know... really not that helpful. Some of the others are really good though and I've picked up som new tricks that I hadn't thought of before.

Learning new genre techniques

By Ryan Barker on 7/6/2020

These recipe tutorials are perfect for gaining confidence using the information from past tutorials. It was helpful to listen though once and then make the sound along with the video as I played it a second time. I always found things I missed the first time or didn't understand. Nice to hear from a variety of sound designers who have really gone their own way. I am a lot more confortable using any synthesizer now.
